According to Pelican parts the drain plug on a 2017 4S is 14x1.5

Hey guys, just a quick note to be wary of. I'm interested in this option too, thank you for posting Capt, I've never heard of this until now. Thanks also to Dogwood on the info re: the drain plug size. The item to be wary of is that according to Pelican, for my 2016 s e-hybrid (3.0 supercharged v6), the oil drain plug is:
Engine Oil Drain Plug (14 X 20 X 1.5 mm)

According to fumotousa.com it is:
M18-1.5 DRAIN VALVE

I don't really understand why the two sites are coming up with different sizes. unfortunately for my engine variant (or car make/model), this is not the first time I have come up with different sized options for car parts. quite frustrating to say the least. Sure would be nice if I could find a good reference/repair manual for my car model and engine type.

Also, looking on fumotousa, I don't actually see 2017/18 as an option for Panamera...

I ran into the same problem, our car is not on the list. I emailed them and Andrew Fumoto answered back:

"I did some digging on this one. Porsche information is sometimes very hard to find. I think the 2018 model is too new to find information easily and they don't seem to be very forthcoming in general.

However, I did find that other Panamera 4S models have used 14mm x 1.5 plugs. If this is the case for you, then you will want one of our 106 series valves and I'll happily walk you through the difference in each of them.

You might have to reach out to Porsche just to get a confirmation. I hope you don't mind this. We base our information on the thread sizes we find through research and Porsche info and user spread options are very limited as not as many people drive Porsches as, say, Toyota's.

I look forward to hearing from you on the confirmation. If you have any additional questions, feel free to ask.

I'll call the parts dept. tomorrow and ask them, and may just order one and measure it. The other option is to order the 14mm x 1.5 valve (per dogwood and Andrew) and see if it fits. It's the same size as the one for my son's car so if it does fit, I'll just order another. Will keep you posted.

 

I would be seriously surprised if a 2018 4S was different from the 2017 4S

but is always wise to verify :-)

 

Got the part # from the parts Dept. N91167901

It appears to be the 14mm x 1.5 oil drain plug

He's probably thinking of Durametric, there is also iCarSoft and Schwben - I have no idea if any of those support the newer cars yet....

 

Has anyone installed one of these on their Panamera yet? Wondering about the clearance between this valve and the under-car plastic splash shield... with the understanding that the clearance will differ between the v6 and v8...
