2015 Panamare 4 Brake Replacement

Looking for information on a full brake replacement on a 2015 Panamera 4. Silver calipers/slotted rotors. Anyone have a step by step guide and tools needed? For the rear brake job, with the electronic parking brake, what else is needed? Do you need to put the the EPB in service mode? How do you do that? Recommendations on aftermarket parts?

Thank you in advance.

Subcribed.... How many miles did you get out of the brakes?
I ve seen it done without those long rods, just put something high enough up to hold rotor so it doesn't t pull on the line.
Just like Porsche uses the wheel rods to line up wheel bolts. I ve had 2 Porsche s and never used those either.

Data point on brake life: my vehicle had the rear brake pads replaced at 38,000 miles as part of the CPO inspection. This means they had <50% of original thickness left. The dealership replaced the rear pads and rotors prior to offering for sale. I''m guessing rear brake actuated limited slip was used by first owner a fair amount.

I now have 68k on vehicle. rear pads measure 8mm and fronts are 6mm. I do a fair amount of highway miles -- so don't expect particularly high brake wear.

Regards,

On my end, 65k before new rotors and pads needed replace. Again, lots of highway driving too.

For Steel Rotor Brakes: 360/330mm & 390/350mm
New Pad Thickness front, approx. 9.6mm. wear limit 2mm
New Pad Thickness rear, approx. 9.5mm, wear limit 2mm

Extra note on brake wear indicator from service manual:
If brake pad wear is indicated by the warning light, the warning contact (sender including wire and plug connection) must also be replaced.
Replacement of the warning contact can be avoided by replacing the brake pads no later than when the pad thickness is 2.5 mm

All info taken from Factory Service Manual

CPO Inspection will replace the pads/rotors prior to sale if the thickness is less than 50%.
i.e. 9.6 - 2 = 7.6 life
50% of life = 7.6 / 2 = 3.8
measured thickness at 50% = 3.8 + 2 = 5.8mm

Regards,
