I brought my 2016 PAN in for minor warranty work, I asked the service manager. he mentioned that when I do PDK transmission service they do the full service, fluid + filter and reset PDK. I will notice the big difference. Doing this I will not see much since my car is new 34K miles. How many miles do you have in your PT? Porsche recommends 60K or 4 yrs. I plan to have PDK service done in 2020, LOL ... will do the drive to LA from SF during holidays
I've got about 58K on mine, 2010 model. From what I understand, the PDK adjusts to the style of the driver? So, I'm assuming whoever had it before me drove it in a little more docile fashion. The slippage of the clutch was a bit of an irritation to me, but now that I did the reset it's like a new car. I guess it depends on your style of driving. Does your clutch slip much from a stop? Sitting at a stop sign on a steep hill and then taking off it was the worst, you had to finesse it. I'm going to fix my fuel filler door hinge next, and then try and change out the plugs & coils. Sounds like a couple plug locations may be a bear to work with.Quite a jump from the PDK reset! I've got AAA...
Look up the diys for both. Theyre on this forum, easy. Just take your time.

i decide to have my local Fremont Flecher Jones Porsche to do 60K Full PDK service on my 2016 PAN4 @ 57K miles now. The cost is $750. Since I am their good customer with Giants games to the manager and SA and i have 3 porsche, i got $150 off. So it is not so painful, the car is still under warranty, they will do thorough check to make sure no fluid leaking from any other places. 60K full service I do myself, Sparkplugs, filter and diff fluid front and rear.
Hi Doug,
I just performed this service myself, and as Ciaka points out, it's easy. Actually easier than front differential.
The only inconvenience is that you need to warm up the fluid after the initial fill, lift your car again, and top it off.
Cost for DIY :
- 9 liters of Pentosin FFL 3 : 180$
- 2 plugs (20$)
=> 200$
Looks like your dealership is still making a steal, unless they actually change the filter cassette (120K maintenance), which costs 300$.
Full PDK service with pan and filter. I will do that again in 120K DIY. For now, I want them to do full PDK service and full Inspection. It is CPO till 1/21. For all the work the labor is $180, not bad ...
So...I’ve been wanting to do this for a while but always seem to forget. Finally got around to doing it today. I did the “extended” PDK reset procedure today (on Rennlist). Maybe it’s the placebo effect but I think the car is shifting smoother and crisper! No audible confirmation that the procedure was done but definitely seems to drive better!

what is transmission range engaged exactly? Trans in D ?
Sorry but this process is not calibration of PDK it's initialize PDK because the ECU is self adaptive and with this process you reset it but not recalibration.
