I had a similar problem. Dealer wanted $700 to fix. I brought a pair of used hydraulic lifters on eBay for $150 - problem solved. Took about an hour to install start to finish using the posted vid as my guide. Not hard to do at all.

Strange solution

So, I had this problem today after disconnecting the battery to reset the CPU. In the end, I tried a number of things, but it would not even close manually, which you should be able to do regardless of automatics function. In the end I rotated the shock on its mounts and the two shock component pieces with respect to each other and it allowed me to close it manually afterwards. I then used the key fob to test opening an closing and it worked fine. So, I suspect that the shocks being even a small bit off expectations can cause the sensors to block closing to protect the shocks themselves.
