Installing roll-up sunblind, help needed

My car came w/ the roll-up sunblind and luggage cover but they've never been installed. I tried when I first got the car 2 years ago and gave up. Now I want to get it installed and working properly and I need help as follows:

The drivers side of the cover ***'y has the electrical connection and I can't get that side to seat properly and establish the connection (so the button's don't work to raise/lower). Is there a trick to getting this side installed? You can see from the pic that it sticks out just enough to prevent the electrical contacts from mating. Any tips or advice will be greatly appreciated!

Drivers side w/ electrical connection - note gap because it isn't seating properly and red button won't click

Passenger side is more flush, seats perfectly every time and red button has an audible click when it's in right

Sunblind retracted in cover behind rear seats

Sunblind in motion upon activation w/ console button

Sunblind fully deployed - it creates a very soothing environment for rear seat passengers and quality seems higher than in my Audi's

I had time yesterday to stop by my local dealer who had never before seen this option in a Panamera. I wonder how rare it is?

Anyway after some readjusting while I pressed the button we got it to work so I confirmed it was the electrical connection. Porsche uses a floating connector w/ a magnet and the metallic surface on the car pillar no longer pulled on the magnet. So I glued a small washer in place and inserted a small amount of foam/felt beneath the floating connector to push it towards the car pillar. Worked like a charm! There are 2 buttons to activate the sunblind; one on the front console and another in the rear - nice!
Apologies for the crappy cell phone pics

Only about 2 years, but it's an iPhone so it's been obsolete for at least 18 months!

It's definitely a nice option and it automatically retracts when put in reverse, then deploys when back in drive and in motion. These cars are amazing!
