Camera but no backup camera?

Does anyone else have what looks like a backup camera right on the bottom of the trunk lid, but no backup camera on the PCM?

I would love to have a backup cam but only have sensors currently and wonder why it would be there. Any ideas?

That's what I thought! I wonder if it IS actually a camera that's wired in, what would need to be done to turn it on...

Just had confirmation from my local Porsche dealer that it is indeed a factory backup camera... so I may have one already! It could just be down to wiring/coding. Yeassss!

I don't know how you could drive one of these cars w/o the backup camera. Get it enabled and you'll be loving life.

just don't backup

Actually the sensors work very well for backing up, but a camera would be much better

Yeh, I am originally from the UK so back into every parking space possible and have gotten used to the sensors. It was one of the 3 concessions I made to get a car that had everything else I would have built it with from factory... so now Im just down to two! Sports steering wheel and the pop up blinds... and I will be changing the steering wheel soon

+2. Super convenient with the blind spot issue.

You can find/enable it through the PCM menu on the radio/Navigation screen

Press the "CAR" button on the lower left side of the right side radio **** to get this display

Select the "Set rear view camera" tile

Enable "Rear View Camera" and "RVC Grid " as desired.

Yeah, I think you may need to have a Porsche dealer go into your firmware and enable the camera. I don't know why it wouldn't be there if it's a factory camera. My 4S didn't come with a camera (that's so stupid, the thing cost $130,000 and it's missing something that comes standard in a VW golf ) Anyway, the previous owner had the independent dealership he bought it from install it and they managed to get the camera enabled so I know it's possible!
