Report on Ceratec "Liquid Moly"

I added a bottle to my oil several weeks ago. As best I can tell it has not hurt gas mileage. I use a 35 mi section of flat Interstate to monitor gas mileage, usually at 65-75 mph. Gas mileage will vary with car load and wind direction, but it does appear to have helped a bit - maybe as much as 0.5 mpg.
As for oil temperature there has been a definitive change. Before my cruising oil temp would hover about 213F, now it hovers at 208F. All this indicates a decrease in heat-causing friction.

It’s not clear to me what is lowering the oil temperature. The computer decides the appropriate oil temperature so if friction drops there is less cooling demand for the oil. 213F looks normal. However if the ambient temperature is low enough that oil cooling was not needed before the additive then I would agree less friction would reduce the temperature. What was the ambient temperature during your test?

Ambient temperature during my usage of Moly has varied from about 55F to 40F. Oil temp did not vary with ambient temp changes.
Previously my oil temp hovered at 113F at highway cruise and it was also insensitive to ambient temps, which varied from 90F to 40F.

this has worked extremely well for me as a good internal detergant... and helps a lot with clacking valves.... Heres the result of the Cerratec after 30k miiles(on 100k mile car)... the internals are completely flawless and no sludge in the engine at all....

it also prevents the lap marks that develops over time on the camshaft itself, prolonging the life of your engine..

2500 miles ago I did the liqui moly flush, with a motul 0-40 oil change. As soon the car pulled out of the oil change bay, got it to temp, dumped the cerratec in there and went on a 250 mile one way trip.
Prior, I did the intake valve cleaner as well.

My car has 127k, and gets an average of 23/24 MPG with light driving, 18/19 when I drive a little more aggressively. With the motul, the cars level has still not dropped a bar. The cerratec really smoothed the car out, and paired with the intake cleaner the car now idles smoother then it has before.
Buying the 5 liter jugs (2-pack) off of Amazon is only about $20 More then the Mobil, and is well worth it.

1.5 bottles of cerratec for V8 and v8 turbos.... you can get away with one full bottle as well.

Can the remaining half of the bottle be kept for the next application or it should be discarded because it's now in an open container?

I would discard it, I got a bad bottle and started getting reduce engine power lights, it took 5 oil changes to flush it all out and for the light to stop showing up( the code for the light was related to a solenoid and oil pressure)
I was really freaking out at first because the drained oil looked "milky" as in water in the oil, but that was not the case, I had used it once before and did not have any issues and the oil did not look milky when I changed it.

Did an oil change today with LiquiMoly 5W-40 Leichtlauf High Tech. V6TT engine takes about 8.9L. Added 535ml of Ceratec into the mix (300ml/5L) and dumped the remaining 65ml from the 2nd bottle into my wife’s Volvo XC90 so that it wouldn’t go to waste. Curious to see if it makes a difference in the Panamera (unlikely to do much in the Volvo!).

Added the Liqui Moly oil additive today to my 2015 3.0TT V6 engine. As soon as I started the engine I could hear it idle quieter or smoother. I have about 81K miles on the odometer and will definitely keep adding this in the future.
I will also be adding it to the 2019 BMW X5 4.4L V8 next, which has about 30K miles now. Thanks for sharing about this product, seems worth it.

Since adding the Ceratec I’ve noticed the oil temperature of my car is running about 2-3 degrees Celsius cooler. Also, the coolant temperature is consistently 10 degrees Celsius cooler. Is this possible or just my imagination?
