BMC Filter worth getting for current set up?

I replaced my original filter with OEM replacement about 10k miles ago pn my 2011 PTT. I decided to mod the car afterwards and I am curious to know if there will be any benefit by swapping to BMC.

Mod list:
FVD Tune
FVD catless downpipes
FVD resonator delete
FVD Diverter valves
IPD Plenum

My PTT: GIAC tune, cat-less Akrapovic, IPD plenum, BMC air filter. No air filter is going to give you giant HP gains but it's nice having a non-paper filter that can be cleaned.

Appreciate the feedback, I will just wait until next filter swap and use a BMC

I just went with an oem like replacement and glad I did, as the stock one I replaced didn't seem as dirty or gunked up as I though it would vs the new one.

Me too. The OEM is a MANN filter. C69226. But it’s cheap enough in a Porsche box anyway.

I haven't replaced (them) yet, but aren't there 3, that one plus two auxiliary filters? Seems like you'd get good flow even with paper because there are actually three filters.

Looking at the intake piping there has to be three???

Thank you though. If you are correct, and most likely you are, then I have two aux filters that I bought for nothing. 😟

Depends on the car, the GTS(and possibly turbo) has multiple filters where the 4S like mine only has the one

GTS has three

GTS has the long, rectangular main filter AND two (2) ovalish auxiliary filters on either side

As already stated, the GTS does in fact have 3; I did this sometime last year and actually got all 3 filters on Amazon to include the cabin air filter. Nothing too difficult, actually I was quite surprised with how easy it was to remove the headlights and bumper.

Thanks everyone!

After the longest time I realized those pipes lead directly into the intake manifold, meaning they are clean air/post filter. I’ve seen a funny/huge looking resonator box on a Lexus before, when I pulled it to replace with a K&N FIPK, but these sure look like they must go to a filter, so I ordered two. I ended up ordering a whole bunch of stuff from FCP Euro including some Lubri Moly oil. Gonna test the notion that you can actually return expendable items for free replacement, minus your return shipping cost that is.

So the turbo only has one, while the GTS has three? (Ours is a GTS.). Seems like the turbo would need more air? (Maybe turbo owners haven’t found the aux filters yet)???
