Drivers door doesn’t lock with remote Please help

I have a 2011 panamera 4S. Solved many problems with the help of this forum. Now I have a door locking issue. I cannot lock my driver’s side door with the key fob. When I press the "lock button" on the key fob, all doors lock except for the driver’s side door. The alarm even sets. When I open the driver side door, the alarm sounds. I stop the alarm by using the key fob. The only way to lock the driver’s side door is by using the actual key that's inside the key fob. When I use this key to lock the door, the alarm chirps twice and all doors lock.

When I try to unlock the car using the key fob all doors unlock except for the driver’s side do
or which I have to use the actual key to unlock. Has anyone experienced this issue?

Prior to this the rear passenger doors had this issue but it fixed itself and passed the issue on to the driver’s door. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

My thought is that it could be the lock actuator.

Thanks for the response. That’s my thought too but was swayed because it happened on the rear passenger door first and then switched over to the front driver’s. I did purchase a driver’s door actuator and will see if this works. Will keep everyone posted.

It ended up being the power door actuator. I replaced it and it works now. Be careful when buying online. Make sure the plug is the same. I found there are 2-3 variations.

you will need a triple square socket to remove the actuator. It’s like a star Allen wrench but it’s called a triple square. You will also need a star bits (I think a T45and T30)

Also it’s 2 layers to remove the door panel. Pop out the wooden trim and remove 4 bolts that are T30. Remove the inside door cable with a pair of pliers and 3 sets of wire harnesses. Set that aside.

then remove 4 T45 bolts and 6 T30 bolts. The panel will fall off so make sure someone is holding the panel. There is where you’ll see the harness that connects to the window actuator.

Two I believe T45 triple square bolts hold the actuator in place. Remove the plastic cover that covers the door latch and remove the two bolts.

Swap everything out and put everything back in place. Easier said than done but you’ll get the hang of it

Thanks very much! that is very helpful, now I just need to find the part and the tools and get it done. By the way, do you recall where you got the part?
I'm surprised that it failed though, my car only has 64,000 kms however, it is 12 years old now.

Well my car is a 2011 Panamera so I think it fails over time with calcified plastic or some time bomb after warranty conspiracy I bought the part on eBay. did a search for Porsche Panamera window actuator. Then scrolled 'til I found the left front (driver's) window actuator. Asked the seller for a picture of the plug side and compared it to mine. So I took my door apart first before I purchased. Some sellers are responsive, others no so much, which is why trial and error and multiple returns. Suits them for wasting my time and not giving me the photo I needed. Bought 4 and returned 3 because wrong plugs and no seller responses. Cost me $60 in the end for the part. You could find the sockets here on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/36391391227...BlBMUKijhY-bYQ. This was a quick search. I am sure you can find a set cheaper with more searching. Just type in "triple square socket set" The star socket set you can get at any Harbor Freight or Hardware store.

Wow! This is my first time using the forum and am so pleased with the response and level of detail in the descriptions of work etc.
Thanks again @gvenz33
Also, just to be clear, it's a door actuator that failed, not window actuator correct ( I believe you mentioned window in your response
I was more curious about where you got your part rather than the sockets..... but that was helpful as well.

I am having this same problem with the driver side door lock, where can I get the door lock actuator from ? Can an independent mechanic complete this task easy? What kind of labor cost is involved? Thanks

I got mine on eBay. You’ll have to take the one out the door first so you can see the plug the wiring harness goes into and match it up with the one you buy.

I had that issue initially. I bought the actuator initially, then I took apart my door and, to my dismay, the plug was different than my harness. So I had to rerun it and get find the correct one.

just an update. Which is frustrating, the rear passenger door and the front driver door alternate when they want to work. I don’t know if both actuators went bad or they just aren’t communicating and the issue lies somewhere else, but when the drivers door locks, the rear passenger door doesn’t. And vice versa, if the drivers door doesn’t open from the outside, the rear passenger door locks. It’s baffling and frustrating and I don’t want to dish out a few grand to fix it.

The plug is the longer 10 pin. (Actually 9 cause 1 is missing) Not sure on the model number. The part number that was on eBay was 9A783721501
