X Games

Just wanted to thank each of you for your friendship and a heck of a great time! Teresa and I always have fun when we come down to the mountains (we are returning in Sept) although the Dragon won't be the same without ALL of you!

BTW, it looks like we lucked up MORE than we knew. Here is a quote off the TOD website. With post more info when I get it.

JULY 9-10: Heard the LEOs wasted 7 units on the Dragon Friday trying to stake-out a Porsche Rally that never happened. After several hours the nodding Troopers headed home. Saturday was a busy day with many cruisers on the highway and several minor cruiser accidents. There was spotty rain in the area, but the Dragon stayed dry all day.

BTW my guess is ....

the LEO (law enforcement officers) probably staked out the Dragon today (Saturday) ..... Not Friday as the website mentioned since we never saw ANY LEO's on the Dragon during the morning or the afternoon.

Obviously they did hear SOMETHING about us though!! LOL

Thanks again to Tony and XICO for dinner. Anxious to see the videos. Thanks for all of the capturing and editing work. Hope to see you all again soon.

Thumbs up Teresa would like to say .....

1st -- that she was ecstatic that she was so readily accepted into such a special group

2nd -- that Chris changed her mind and kept her company by being her "Draggin Buddy"

3rd -- and that she enjoyed meeting all of you and looks forward to the next run with all of you!

That's just too funny. A day late and a dollar short for our revenue collecting "friends".

I have to say, our drive yesterday was the best I've ever been on. Great people, great cars, and great roads!! I don't think it could have come together any better.

Ken - Thanks again for setting things up. How was the drive down to Atlanta? I decided to skip the TOD coming home and took a different two lane back down; probably a good thing after what Russ just posted about local law enforcement. The road (Hwy 68) was curvy with very few cars, but it wasn't nearly as fun without the rest of the TOD crew.

It was a real pleasure to meet everyone. It would be great to have a TOD II next year.

Thanks again Tony and xico...

I want to really thank everyone for this event, it is by far the best drive I have ever done!!! Bill that drive we took up those mountains was intense, you really pushed it hard and I was amazed at your skills, it made my trip. I am so glad that I got to meet so many great people and make so many new friends. If I only would of known that my Porsche would of led me to meet such great friends I would of bought one much sooner. I will post some more later, it's family time!!! ha,ha, ha

Thumbs up TOD Website Corrected Now

JULY 9-10: Heard the LEOs wasted 7 units on the Dragon Friday trying to stake-out a Porsche Rally that came early to avoid the hassles. Thanks to Russ Gobble for the photo and correction.

After several hours, the nodding Troopers headed home.
The TOD website www.tailofthedragon.com now stands corrected!!

Words don't exist to describe the awe-inspiring time I had at the Dragon with the gang assembled. I’ve been a driving nut for my entire teen and adult life…both cars and motorcycles. I’ve enjoyed innumerable escapades with a bunch of fast motors. I can say without equivocation that the experience of the past 72 hours of motoring was by far the best I’ve enjoyed in my lifetime.

More remarkable than the drive was the company. Our (the Fab 5) fearless leader, Ken deserves all the thanks and appreciation for his superb orchestration…he’s a true scholar and a gentleman! Tony, Harvey, Ron & Chris…..thank you for shepherding me back home yesterday. As for Xico (lone wolf from FL), Dock, James, James, Harvey, Mark, Mark, Super Bill, Russ & Theresa…it was a pleasure to have met you….Its incredible how the thrill of driving at the Dragon creates instant bonding!!! Ron said it best: “Porsche + good friends = PERFECTION”!

Another remarkable feat was that there were no accidents or FIVE-0 encounters….considering the intensity of the day, this is simply amazing!!

Lastly, the driving skills of Bill and Tony in the twisties ranks among the best I’ve ever witnessed!

Can’t wait for our Fall ’04 TOD II!
