NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BTW, Russ from Cincinnati contacted me. He and his wife (C4S + Boxster) will likely be taking the 4 hour drive down to the Tail.
It looks like we will have a nice turnout.
Any attendees reading this thread, please forward, via PM, your cell phone numbers and names.
Thanks!!

My wife just informed me that her boss OK'd Friday, July 9th as a vacation day so we will definitely be there (assuming nothing else comes up last minute). Now we have to figure out which car to bring ... mine, hers or both!
Now if we can just get down to Knoxville in time to have dinner with all of you on Thursday evening!! Will stay in touch, and thanks Dock & Kevin for the information.

I contacted Ron & Nancy Johnson that run the TOD website so I could ask them a few questions re: our run this Friday, July 9th. I did NOT mention what types of vehicles would be coming, only that there would be 15 or so of us.
Their responses were very helpful. Here it is in it's entirety (only 4 days to go!!):
Russ:
The Chicken Run is a small group of older riders that will not be any trouble for you all.
The heavy enforcement has calmed the past few weeks. The times to expect it are Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 3 pm. We have seen some enforcement on busy Fridays when the Miatas or Coopers are here. The best protection is to scout the road before getting too carried away. After a run from the state line to Tabcat Bridge and seeing nothing, you can turn around and have at it to the state line. Early week day mornings (before 10) and late afternoons (after 6) are perhaps the best times to avoid enforcement and traffic.
We have not seen the complete assault with helio, scoot cops, and HP rally cars since the one time you mentioned. There are unmarked LEO cars in prime time, but they usually have a number of visible units to assist down at Tabcat when they are working. If you see marked cars I would take it easy.
One radar update is in the town of Alcoa along the airport motor mile. We have noted a lot of radar on this busy 4 lane lately. Be aware that NC HP and local yokels have radar on the back roads and will write you up on US 129, Hwy 28, and Hwy143. The worst places are on the 4-lanes though (US74 and Hwy 28).
US 129 from Tapoco to Robbinsville is a nice ride. They have been repaving it, but most of it is done. You also need to run the Cherohala if you haven't yet.
Thanks for the comments on our website. We have great fun with it and enjoy meeting people like yourselves. Hope to see you on your visit.
Ron and Nancy Johnson

For all attendees.........The NJ group will be arriving in Knoxville at approximately 6:00 - 7:00pm Thursday night. We will be meeting in the hotel lobby at 8:00pm to go to dinner and invite all to attend.
thanks for the invite, the charlotte-hickory contingent of two will be in the lobby at eight (in the bar before that!) Don't forget to mention Stanislaw or Tail of the Dragon for the preferred group parking mentioned earlier in this thread. Bring the motorolas.
breaking news !!!!!
Guys, we felt the Dynamic Duo from Florida(Orli & Xico) would have been to much competition for you Jersey boys , to even things out , Iam coming by myself. Your fingers in those pictures did not intimidate me at all. (you can put them where the sun don't shine.) you can all thank Orli for bagging out and giving you guys a better chance to compete.

XICO... you are our sole representative and we send you with our blessings and support. Remember... use caution and the force... it will guide you in your quest to vanquish the dark evils from the North.
