I dunno, new m3 are making incredible power w/ just tune and downpipes.

hehe.. I miss this forum. Used to be here all the time SeattleTurbo

I guess what I'm seeking is 996TT performance like my old UMW turbo equipped car but in a newer format. I've now read enough to know that a tuned F80 M3 isn't comparable but a Pure Turbo (Turbos only upgrade for $3.5K) and tune will put you right at the 600hp/600trq club. That would be fun.. and looking at dynos.. the torque curve would be similar.

Honestly, would love a 997TT as I've had 2 996TT's and I'm tired of the interior of the 996TT and some other little nuances after owning them. But if a cherry of a deal were to be available.. who knows., maybe 3rd time is the charm. I'm all over the place man... its terrible. lol

I’ve owned a 2001 and 2004 996 Turbos. The 01 had FVD Stage 3 turbos, tune, and Xpipe. The 04 had a tune and Xpipe. Both were manual transmission. I recently bought a F80 M3 with DCT transmission. The F80 does well with downpipes and e85 tune. Recently someone ran a high 10 second quarter mile with just downpipes and e85 tune with more boost on the F80. Pure Turbos has a replacement turbo upgrade for 3k or thereabouts. Despite the newness of the F80 and I believe it is and can be equal to the 996 Turbo in a straight line, the F80 just lacks the personality of a Porsche Turbo imo. I miss my 996 Turbo and hope to get back in one later this year. Both cars are great, just quite different.

My 996TT was a UMW customer car. Kevin is awesome to work with!! This is a pic of it after I sold it to a guy in Nashville.
