FS or FT: Build 996TT gearbox w steel synchro and custom gearset

Category: Drivetrain
Price: $10996
Private or Vendor Listing: Private Listing
Part fits: Porsche 911 996 Turbo
Location (State): CA
Item Condition: Brand New

Deal done and closed.

Senseless trade deal on a built tranny by Bill Rader Motorsports who builds for TRG and built the racewinning boxes in 24H Daytona GT-class 2009 and 2011.

From gearchart:

Speed @ 7000rpm with 18" GT2 rear wheels, 315/30/18.
1: 51
2: 79
3: 103
4: 125 (if you need 60-130 times rev to 7250 to reach 130)
5: 149
6: 178

RPM drop
1-2: 2479
2-3: 1580
3-4: 1272
4-5: 1118
5-6: 1117

1st and 2nd gearing is now usable in a TT/GT2.
Car is still easy at stop&go, even with LWFW or starting uphill.
SERIOUS buyer can test drive.

Car hauls monkey *ss with this gear set!
It's relentless bc always spot on in the powerband.

Gears are very strong Guard gears, due to the way they are cut they give some motorsport type whine/noise. It's not dominant, it's a background type noise. Personally I love it, it feels baller/better. Again SERIOUS buyer can test drive.

Overall, the gearbox as a whole has roughly 12000 miles with

80 miles on:
1st gear (GT3 Cup 1st gear + motorsport main shaft)
2nd gear + new synchro

700 miles on:
5th + steel synchro
6th + synchro
Main pinion bearing
LSD

6000 miles on:
3rd gear + steel synchro
4th gear + steel synchro

Box can be bought with or w/o the Carbonetic LSD installed. It's a carbon disc LSD, lasts at least 10 times longer than any regular disc LSD. Add $1500.

Here comes the good part:
- I will TRADE this box (w/o LSD) for an OEM stock tranny up to 50.000 miles (must have no bad noise or 2nd gear popout or rough synchro), all buyer has to do is fund the cost to swap the boxes out of/into my car (appr $1500 at a decent shop). It's a baller tranny that belongs inside the community!

I will have this gearbox overlooked before it moves into buyer's car, to give buyer a chance to verify that it has the gearset described and so that a builder can check that it will not have a 2nd gear popout issue.

I don't qualify for your deal becaue I have too many miles on my unit (even though its perfect and has never had 2nd gear pop out!), and I would drive to you and do this in a second, but I gotta ask, primarily out of curiousity, why would you do this? Other than the extra noise, what is the down side of your box? (also, if you don't mind more miles, I'd throw in cash and buy the lsd!!!!! just in case!) In any event, good luck, you are going to make a forum member very happy! I'm going to let my buddy with a perfect 04 cab know about this right now!

I love the gearing, feel, "noise" (not really a noise to me) but I've started looking at options and this will be the most efficient way to proceed.

Agree^ I recently changed my third gear out to straight cut gear - absolutely love the sound, now I wish I replace all the gears or new about your tranny before?
