Is anyone finding that the rich media ads in the site (Verizon and British Columbia ads) load way too many times (no frequency cap?), take over the site, and make the experience unusable? I don't know who runs these sites for internet brands but really poor user experience!

 

Yeah, the page loads about 16 pages worth of ads and it's rather annoying when trying to scroll to the bottom of a thread.

 

Sometimes it effects you trying to log in. Yes very annoying.

 

I've only had issues with the ads from the mobile site on my iPhone. I have hardly any ads on my laptop.

 

Site has been unusable on my iPad the past days because of this. Crashes the browser after 10 seconds every time....

 

Odd...I use an iPad all the time and have had no issues....make sure your iPad and Safari are up to date...don't use the mobile app but use Safari

 

I am using Safari and I have all current updates from Apple on my iPhone 5, still have a ton of pop ups on my phone. Like you said, really odd.

 

Apparently the advertising boys were running a test last week and didn't tell anyone....let me know if it is still a problem

 

This is my last post and visit unless/until the full page pop ups that partially freeze my ipad go away.

If you are logged in and not just visiting you shouldn't be getting the pop ups ...I don't get them on my iPad except on the welcome page (log in page)...if I leave the site open in Safari I can close Safari and I'll still be logged in next time I open Safari and I don't have to fuss with logging and pop ups

 

I got an email directing me to this thread. Can't post if you aren't logged in. It starts by taking up half the page (shrinking the text side), then I get full page pop ups I have to close. It also is doing something to my ipad, slowing down the typing speed that other sites don't seem to do. I certainly don't feel at all motivated to buy things from the ads, lol. Quite the opposite.

 

Are you using Safari or the iPad 6speed app? You can also try clearing cookies and cache but that is a last resort as far as I'm concerned because you will lose all saved passwords and logins...I know it can be frustrating...I was recently locked out of the site myself when somehow my site cookie decided to crumble

 

for some reason this this site has been not loading unless I restart my mac. Don't have any problem on any other sites or forums. started doing this this week. Any suggestions? the home page will come up but opening any links to other pages won't.
