Unhappy More "Good Stuff" From Park Place

Last week I noticed yet another rattle coming from my sunroof area so I took it back to Park Place because they did the initial work on the support bar. I get there about 5pm last Monday and test drive with the tech - suroof open and closed - and the tech agrees there is an issue. So they schedule me to bring the car in on Thursday. I drop the car off at 7:30 and 2:30 get a call
PP - "We can't work on your car because the sunroof won't open. We can charge you three hours labor to break it down and open it for you"
Me - "I'll be right there"

So I get there and the service advisor can't be found nor can the service manager so I ask for the GM of the dealership. All I want to know is how did I drop my car with a working sunroof and all of a sudden it doesn't work anymore.
We have a 30 min conversation - and the GM is pretty much taking the typical Park Place "eat dirt" attitude. Things get heated. They pull my car around (props for them not scratching it this time) and as I go to leave I hit my sunroof button and GUESS WHAT? IT OPENS!!!!!!!!!!!

Freakin idiots. ****ty attitude. Clueless service. Overpriced across the board.

For you own sanity
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH PARK PLACE!!!!!!!

It just causes heart aches and regrets.

Ugh, sorry to hear about your bad dealer experience. I'm assuming you took the car and left, correct? Time for a new dealer...

I moved into the area several months ago, used Park Place Porsche 3 times. Absolutely the best experience I've ever had at a dealer. There is always 2 sides to a story, maybe Park Place Porsche can weight in about this guy. Also below is a post from him, I think we should consider the source.

I think the quote is just an example of the character of the person making the claim. Someone who will post a clearly disrespectful statement on the internet about his future wife, may not be telling the whole story.

993997 - Maybe you should build up a report before jumping into what has the potential of becoming a heated conversation.

Welcome to the site, anyways!

p.s. My office is maybe 6' away from the " advisor " who in involved and can say for fact, there is more to this than is being let on. That includes this visit as well as the previous visit where the car was " damaged while in the shop "

What's his name?

Seriously, your first post on this site turns into a personal attack on me? You went through all my posts and that one off color joke is all you could find? You make it sound like I am down at the SPCA on the weekends kicking puppies. Since you've found out how to use the search button why don't you look into how many people (that know what they are talking about) would choose Park Place over Boardwalk/Eurosport/RUF. The ratio is probably 1 for Park Place to 19 for every other service center.

Consider the source? I'm in a committed relationship, like bj's and the occasional nap. I think you'll be hard pressed to find someone on here that doesn't.

Let me sum up my Park Place experiences:
- Service Advisor LIED to me about the IMS issue in the 3.4
- The first time I took my car in they scratched the door and broke a part in my sunroof assembly that took two weeks to get into Park Place
- My last visit they couldn't figure out how to open my sunroof
- On top of all they they have a very elite and bad attitude - people that have been there know this very well

As said before
DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH PARK PLACE!!!!

edit - check out this thread from a long time ago. Clearly I'm not the only one that has had issues with Park Place https://www.6speedonline.com/forums/...boardwalk.html

They scratched the hell out the driver door. I had the car for about 3 weeks and took pictures of the car days before I took it in there. While they were working on the roof they gouged the door. When they brought out the "walk around" they noted a rock chip in the hood in black pen. All of a sudden the scratch on the door was in black Sharpie. Did his pen run out of ink just as he was going to mark the scratch or did they go back and add the scratch? My vote is they went back with the Sharpie to cover their butts.

You're in sales at Park Place right? I understand you defending your employer - I do. But I'm curious when you say that the full story isn't being told. Please let me in on what you are talking about. If you were 6' from Kevin when this conversation was going on why didn't you come introduce yourself? I thought sales was on the other side of the building from service? No?

Some of the posters on this thread illustrate the fact that the typical American male is completely feminized. Say no to estrogenical tyranny!

Since when is a simple request for sex and silence disrespectful? As long as you say "thank you honey, for the oral and the quality sports time."

And 993, no I was not thinking that possibly you were getting some action...thanks a lot for the mental imagery.

Cool

First, I am responding as a forum member with insight to the events, not as an employee of PPP.

Next, am sorry that your car was damaged and that you have not had good experiences at PPP. ( Maybe you and I could work together in the future, I may be able to exceed your expectations, because I cross my T's and dot my I's all around, I will tell you the way it is, but am fair and do work outside the box, so to speak.)

Facts:
1. You have accused PPP of damaging your car.
a. PPP has a write up sheet with damage noted in the same ink prior to taking your car in for repairs.
b. PPP has video of your car while in their possession, showing your vehicles location and surroundings while there. At write up, while parked, even while being worked on in a flat bay inside the shop. At no time did anything come in contact with your car to cause the damage you have stated.

2. You state PPP are “idiots and elitist”
a. PPP has been awarded the Premier Dealership award 11 out of the last 12 years.
b. PPP has the highest volume of Service in DFW, more cars equals more chances to mess things up as well as do things correctly.

3. You state "PPP cannot figure out how to open your sun roof"
a. On the test drive, your sun roof was in the vent position, it was never opened then closed, simply closed from the vent position.
b. it is possible that you have an intermittent sun roof problem, obviously anyone can press the sun roof switch and open the sun roof. When given the chance to approve the time needed to find the problem with your car, you declined.

4. You state you came up and could not find the advisor or service manager.
a. When did you arrive? Could they have been at lunch? Was it after 5, could they have gone home?
b. When you chose to escalate your frustration to the GM, again you were upset that when he stated the obvious (that your car was here, not working, that you would not authorize PPP to work on your car.) and threaten him that you would, what you are doing here now, blast PPP all over the internet.

5. You state that others have had issue with PPP "per the link".
a. It appears that you know how to lead an online conversation.
b. EVERY shop has instances where a client has been unhappy with some aspect of a visit. Hello... I have been in the industry in DFW since 1985; I have worked with PP, BW, Classic, a couple independents, etc.... They ALL have problems. I am sure you know this, so I am not taking the time to search the internet to support this (unless you want to argue this point)

PPP is in the negative (money you have spent vs. money they have spent to do business with each other) Maybe is time for you to move on to Eurowerks, BW, RUF, etc.. give them a chance to make your Porsche ownership experience what you expect.

Look, I have never met you in person, I have invited you out on several occasions in order to get to know you and other DFW members. If you got to know me, you would know that I am about as fair and balanced a person when it comes to dealership / client relationships ( ok maybe I lean more to the clients side of things ) Something I can see from reading your post per your request, is that they are mostly one sided ( your side ) I know what I know to be fact, you have presented your side from your perspective, forums are great tools to slander businesses, but doing so simply because you do not get your way is pretty low.

I am not sure airing out dirty laundry here is the way to go. (We can continue if you want to)

More to follow....

Wink

... oh BTW, I did not introduce myself because 1. I did not know who you were at the time 2. The situation between you and the GM did not warrant me walking in and say " Hello "...
