why does my heater/ac turn on everytime i turn ignition on
hello everyone im new to the forum and new to the porsche scene..i tried many many time to bypass that turning the key holding down the 1 button on the door and trying to program it to stay off but it just wont work..my seats and side mirrors are good they stay programed but just this heat/ac vent turns on soon as i turn the ignition..soooo frustrating! please someone help out..thanks
Is this happening after you turned off the heater / ac? At first I couldn't figure out how to turn off the a/c / heater. To do so, continue to press the fan speed button towards down. After a couple of clicks it will turn off the fan and say off on the display. Next time you turn the car on the a/c / heater will not automatically start.
i put the key in the ignition..when i turn the key where all the lights on the dash go on and is ready to start the fan speed turns on automaticly..i have tried shutting down the fan to the off position shut off the car turn key again sure enough the fan goes back up and slowly builds up notch by notch to the full bar on the fan..blows my mind..i heard you have to program it with the key but i have tried every which way but doesnt seem to work..i had fixed the problem once with the key programing but some how it started doing it again..thanks again for your help..anymore info would be great..
thanks for the reply i just toke out the battery out from the key and it went away haha it was driving me nuts at one point

Hey,
If your car isn't overheating then I'm gonna guess that the air is getting heated up by heat stored up in the car and from the cooling system. I see you live up north, does it do the same thing with it's below 0 outside? if so then you have a magic car that can instantly produce heat, if not then i'm getting the HVAC system in your car just can't quite get the job done. I think similar things about my car when I'm trying to use the outside air.
Thanks.

i can almost tell you for sure that its what programmed with your key. go adjust it in the PCM and it will all go away. have fun.
btw, all info regarding this can be found in the owner manual.
