28 November 2007 | Castaneda to Contiune Winter Testing in Formula Master with Alan Racing
Troy will continue testing in Formula Master, December 4th and 5th at L’Autodromo Vallelunga in Italy. He tested with the team at Valencia in Spain November 20th and 21st.
“This was my first time driving this car and I really enjoy it. Unfortunately, during this first test we had some trouble with the shifting, but the main purpose of this test was to get comfortable with the new car and the track,” said Troy. “I am really looking forward to the next test in Vallelunga. Alan Racing is such a great team and I love working with them.”

20 November 2007 | Strong Showing From New Drivers
A host of new drivers joined familiar Formula Master faces for day one of an official two-day test in Valencia, Spain today with Luca Persiani driving for Scuderia Famà toping the timesheets.
The Series’ international pedigree was demonstrated with drivers from ten countries including Formula Master’s first American racer, Troy Castaneda testing for Alan Racing and the Series’ second-ever female driver Gwendolyn Hertzberger joining Luca Persiani at Scuderia Famà.
Drivers completed an average of 66 laps with teams focusing on driver evaluation ahead of the 2008 season. Standards were high with the top 11 drivers setting fastest laps within one second of each other and new drivers such as 2007 British Formula 3 National Class winner Sergio Perez testing for Alan Racing and Dean Smith (2005 British Formula BMW) driving with Euronova Racing, posting competitive lap times.
Daniel Mancinelli claimed best rookie of the day with second fastest whilst 2007 Formula 3 Euroseries driver Sergey Afanasiev also impressed, having set the fourth fastest time.
British driver Michael Meadows returned to the Series, testing for Euronova Racing, following a race-weekend appearance with the team at Brands Hatch earlier this year. A number of teams took the opportunity to test former rivals such as Pablo Sanchez Lopez who drove the car of Series Champion Jérôme D’Ambrosio at Cram Competition.

Well, Troy (Troy07) is always looking for a big name sponsor....by the way he is still in high school (17 years old). I think it's great to see someone of this age knowing what they want to do and going after it!
Great news! Is Troy your son and did he post on 6speed at one time...I just do not know him. You are right it is awesome to see a young adult like this guy still in High School and going after what he wants!. He could teach me a few things about driving on the track!
was he the guy in the racing competition show on the speed channel. Bah! i cant remember the name of the show but, there was a 17 year old kid in the competition who drove a yellow corvette. It seemed like his team was to win the show but i never finished the series.
but anyway, that is AWESOME that he got that kind of opportunity, kudos to him!
