Best way to get on the track without using your car?

I used to do HPDEs, but I don't feel comfortable tracking any of my current cars.
Are there any good ways to get on the track without using your own car, and without spending a small fortune?

I was thinking more about different 'rent a race car' companies or something similar to that. Didn't know if maybe there's a forum where people allow other people to rent their HPDE cars, etc.

But that would be funny. Rent a Hertz, swap out the tires and brake pads, swap out the ECU and go racing! I don't want to get in trouble though.

I should clarify... any legal, not too expensive ways?

There are companies that rent track cars. They are usually co-located at or near the track you have in mind. It is not inexpensive - even for a Miata - because you are beating on their brakes tires, fluids etc.

Check with your local tracks and perhaps car clubs. I know Monticello in NY has driving experience in track ready Miata's and PDK Caymans.

Looks like you're in the Mid Atlantic area. I know the following companies have racing and HPDE rentals in the area:

I used to rent out my old Spec Miata. Usually for comp schools. For local tracks, I would have done hpde's for around $2000 a weekend.

It's not just the cost of towing, tires, brakes, fuel, and amortization of wear items, it's my personal time. Considering that came with coaching, that was a lot of value.
