Karting School???
Karting School???
Race car drivers have told me karting really improves their lap times when the switck back to salon car racing.
Do you think kart school would be a better car control education or skip barber type car school?
I am not getting into racing (too poor and too old) but really enjoy track days at local track, and want to really improve as a driver. Better able to control the car etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

skip barber high peformance school was awesome. I went to laguna seca and the track, cars and instructors were top notch. I would recommend it to anyone, it definitely improved my driving skills
Karting can definateley help you become an awesome driver, but if you're just going to a 1 or 2 day school, I'd recommend a car based school. You can't learn enough in a kart in a couple days to carry over to cars compared to the ammount you'd pick up at a decent racing school.
I've heard karting is harder more demanding than any form of motorsport, and hopefully one day I'll be able to compare professional racing to karts.

sup fellas!
Karting is the purest form of racing where body conditioning, concentration, and utilizing one's real driving skills is necessary to be fast and competitive. There are less time spent on the engine hp, suspension, etc etc but with primary focuses on the driving skills itself. I highly suggest for those who are interested to first take a class at their nearby kart track before making any purchases.
I have been racing karts for 3-4 years and this is my favorite amongst racing cars exotics (porsche GT3 cup) and imports (drags & road courses) for the past 15 years. The overall costs is much less then in racing a car while you get so much more out of it. This is why many professional racers go back to karting during their off season to enhance and maintain their stamina and skills.
The below link is where i go race my kart. They have professional lessions as well as support if you wish to purchase your very own kart for club racing or even racing on a national level where it is extremely competitive. If you local guys want, you can come visit us on one of the race day this summer where I normally would be racing in the TAG series. Cheers!
