Craigger,

CLS knows me better than most people know.

I have a very thick skin , I've been known to dish it out and I have also been known to take it. I took no offense to your first statement. What we are attempting to do hasn't been done before with the 996tt motor. It is very difficult. We believe it will work, then again it may not. One thing is for sure, I will let everyone know.

Alex,

I just hope the the makeover of the fenders, suspension, brakes, swap bars, wheels, centerlocks and coilovers get done alot quicker. I will drive her for at least a month or two before we start that project. I have been quoted 60 days for that work. And then I still have the fuel cell to do so I can finally to Nevada with Roland (Ruf Racer).

If it was "normal" it would have been done long ago.A lot of the learning here is being done at someone else's expense ! We all benefit from this learning.

Hey Chad - what are you using for wider fenders? I have some nice items from DP including larger IC inlet ducts, wider rear bumper, side skirts etc. Not sure if I will be using this on my project now as I am thinking of 997 wide body when it becomes available in the design I want. Check out the white 996 GT2 Evo DP96 on their website. No problem for 13" rear wheels.

Way to go Chad.
I stand corrected then, by no means does CJV need defending he does very well on his own.....your comment just struck me wrong, peace!

I was going to have a body shop do it around the tires and wheels. How do you get to their website to take a look?

I am always going to have a 996TT... eitehr in driving form or just sitting around collecting dust for memory's sake. I think for me at least, it was/is still one of the best cars of recent times.

I just spoke with Rob King at S Car Go Racing this evening. He said he expects the cams within two weeks.

Alex,

Cams in two weeks, engine assembly in four weeks. Then the engine will be off to Protomotive where it will be dyno tuned for both the GT30R and GT40R turbo's and then returned to S Car Go Racing.

Early November is starting to look very realistic.

I like your approach of having them tune for both turbo set ups... At least that way it'll be done "once" and you can pick and choose which set up you like best. My guess is the GT30R one....

Alex,

It depends on the purpose. At a shootout the 30R's for the track and the 40R's for the strip. We'll just need to have the events about seven hours apart.

Wait until you see the fuel lines and delivery system. This is definitely going to be a first.

Are you going to have two different ECUs for each purpose? Fuel delivery sounds neat. Hard lines everywhere I presume? Did you completely change the rails? There is one point where they're very restrictive...
