Anyone have experience with these GT3 Replicas?

I can get them shipped to my house brand new for cheaper than any used 996 Turbo set I can find. I already have race rubber being shipped to me...

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/18-Wh...=p4506.c0.m245

I will be using them a few weekends a year for 1 or 2 day HPDEs.

Thoughts? People who want to sell me their 996 Turbo twists for cheaper than $680 to my house? =)

Sorry, I meant GT3 replicas!

no offense intended but you asked....putting cheap replicas on a street car is one thing but putting them on a track car with race rubber is not prudent IMO...suggest you try to verify with someone that has done it to see if they survived the day...when you could buy a good used set of proper racing wheels for $1,200-$1,800 do you think risking yourself and your car, not to mention your fellow drivers, is worth the difference you will save?

The intention of this post is to get feedback of someone that has brought them to the track, if there is anyone =)

Or if they have failed on a street car, even worse!

Plenty of people run stock wheels at the track, there is no need to get "proper race wheels" for a day at the track.

true, and most of those people don't run stock wheels with race rubber, which you said you are going to use...race rubber puts a lot more stress on the wheels...the factory GT3 wheels are plenty strong enough...don't have any idea about the replicas...I have never seen a replica set at the track...I hope you get an answer

Correct, I have a set of used (60-70% tread left) Kumho V710s coming ($70 a piece if anyone wants the contact information).

Thanks for your insight....hope someone else has the experience!

Has anyone broken stock wheels at the track with race rubber?

I haven't seen any catastrophic wheel failures at the track...I have seen cars not pass tech because the wheels were found to have hairline cracks...there have been posts on here of cracked wheels (even expensive brands..some track some street)...just a good idea to thoroughly check whatever wheels you have prior to a track event and you should be checking tire pressures/temps and lug torque after every session so that is a good time to look over the wheels too...
