1967 Soft Tail 911 Value

I Have a 1967 911 Softtail Targa... What might be the best way to get an honest appraisel on it? I recently had the exterior totally restored...the engine and transaxle as well...the body was extremely solid prior to restoration...68,000 documented miles...
it was 1 of 500 ser # 500182... i see lots of 911s for sale but no 911's with webbers at all...quite rare...any ideas where to start? i'm going to sell it in the spring when i lose my a/c garage space...to many cars...
It's polo red and gorgeous!
Any help would be greatly appreciated...thanks dougy911

Open an account at Photobucket.....it's free and online. Upload your pics from your computer to Photobucket and then you can post them full size on the 6speed site. It took me a couple of tries before I got it right, but it works just fine. You can also upload your vivatar pic to 6speed directly from your computer, if your so inclined. Pipes

Yes, It is gorgeous.

Starting in 1965, Porsche just used a six digit VIN until the start of the 1968 model. All 1967 cars had Webers. The 911S had hotter cams and exhaust.

I don't understand your 1 of 500 comment. The '67 model year was the first year of the Targa. The made 1427 Targa's in 1967-1968. They made over 1000 1967-1968 991S Targa's.

I am going to guess that the car is a #2. The value of a #2 1967 911 soft top Targa is $42K-$46K. A #1 car goes higher.

I'd go to the early 911 site (see above) for people that are the experts.

Well....since I last entered this web site yesterday every thing has changed with respect to the format and user interface....besides that...the thumbnails of your 911 look great!!! It's a real winner. I think from time to time that my 87 is an oldster...but your's makes my kid look like a newby.....nice car.

1 of 500

Pipes...thanks for your response...prior to beginning restoation we called Germany and they told me that in 67 they only produced 500 911 models...true that they made 700+ S models but people complained that they were difficult to keep running at low RPM's as they seemed to "load up" if driven on the street... "Boo" is 182 0f 500 non S models...and there don't seem to be many left because in the 70's people were converting the rear windows to glass...

the only 2 that i've seen for sale in the past couple of years have sold on the sixty plus range... i can't find any on the auction sites to it's hard to get a real fix on her value... i was told that in some of them were built with solex carbs but can't verify that either...thanks for all of your help...dougy911
