$30K track tool...
If you were to spend somewhere around $30K, is there a Porsche out there that can compete with an Evo 8 and/or a Z06 (C5) as a track car / canyon carver? All would need to be street legal. Can you find a 993 in the mid 20's and modify it to be competitive? If not, what other P-cars would be competitive?
I don't think you will find a 993 with low enough mileage or in good enough shape to take to the track for mid $20's. You will be spending some $$$ to make it work for you. With that said, I have been faster at Sebring than several C5 Zo6's with my relatively stock 993. With $30k you could pick up an ok car. JIC coilovers with monoball & camber plates $2500. TRG Sway Bars $750. Lightweight Flywheel & Rs clutch $1200. Exhaust $700, removing cats under $500. Airbox & filter ?, chip $300-$400. Get some nice pads & sticky tires and start the weight reduction. (seats, removing unecessary **** etc)
