Progress this weekend

While waiting for some green through bolts o-rings I removed the ball joints and control arm joints and added a missing spacer to a spindle up front. Also greased rack & pinion and replaced all A-arm and sway bar bushings up front.

New Front Wheel Bearings & Races

The inner race walks right out with a flat end punch, but the outter is more difficult and requires thermodynamic manipulation. I used a torch to gently heat the hub/housing and that helped, but to make it real easy I then used a cold can of tomato juice to cool the race too. Once cooled the outter race walked right out.

After 5 long years the cases meet again:)

If you ever watched a stupid chick flick with your wifie you know how it is when two hard cases come back together after 5 years apart...it's like magic

You are getting ready to surpass me on my build! Mine has been stalled for several years due to the addition of two children and a 50 year old house that seams to take the remaining time I have free. Its looking good. Mine has been apart a bit longer going on 7 years now. I was nearly complete when we purchased the house and then adopted our two children. Priorities dictated that I put my project aside. Over the years I have been collecting parts and planing my attack on the project. I recently received the final hard to get part to complete my twin turbo EFI conversion. Your thread (and others on Pelican) have given me some motivation to start back up. Keep the pictures and updates coming!

Bill
