This is a question I have been asking myself ever since the Turbo was unveiled a couple of days ago.
Looks wise is the GT3 anytime any day. The Turbo some how looks funny & I would go as far to say that the 997.2 Turbo looks better from certain angle. I have not seen the car in metal & I maybe wrong on that score.
GT3 is value for money to me. A fully loaded C2S costs more but then again there are not that many options to choose from on the GT3. The most expensive being the PCCB.
For a blast on the country road or the highway & of cause the track. I will take the GT3 & I suspect is a nicer car to drive without the inherent weight of the AWD, very wide *** & the fabulous 9,000rpm motor to rev.
As for the Turbo, the S version is a better buy than the basic version because if you were to spec up the car to the S. The price difference is not a lot & you don't get the extra power of the S which comes as standard. Between the basic version & the S, I would go for the S.
Coming back to the choice between the GT3 & Turbo.
If you can bear with less comfort creatures, 2 barely rear seats & a lowered & harder ride. Go for the GT3. IMHO, the GT3 is quite bearable for town driving except that the car is lowered by slightly more than an inch. Even you don't go tracking, GT3 should be OK & use it like an ordinary C2S. GT3 is compromised more for road use than track use. For ultimate track weapon, is the forthcoming GT3RS to be launched next year. It will be wilder, more track focus & move to a more extreme direction. Expect 500hp, a huge rear wing & more crash dieting to reduce weight further.
Between the GT3 & the C2S & I will go for the earlier.
Last but not least, back to the original question & my heart says GT3 & my mind says Turbo S.

0-60 may almost be the same. When it comes to in-gear acceleration which is more applicable in the Real world. Turbo S is in a different league all together because it has a colossal amount of torque as most turbocharged cars do.

could u explain that please ?

I take it that you want in-gear acceleration explanation. In-gear means like in any given gear you are on & travelling between say 50-70mph or 130-150mph. How long it takes to get from 50-70mph in say 3rd gear. Luckily I still have the figures with me as tested by a British Porsche magazine / GTPORSCHE back in 2007. For comparison sake. The 997.1 GT3 takes 3sec to get from 50-70mph in 3rd gear & the 997.1 Turbo takes only 2.1sec. 130-150mph in 6th gear: GT3 takes 9.2sec & the Turbo takes 6.1 sec. Is more of a measurement of the car's overtaking ability.

You are most welcome mate. We are here to help each other out & I may just have a question for you guys out there to enlighten me. As I understand all GT3 comes with semi-slick tires good for track but not much for road use. The 991 GT3 uses Dunlop Sport Maxx Race tires. What would be the recommended tires if the GT3 is for road use only. If I'm not mistaken, both the 991 GT3 & the Turbo S share the same tire spec. Turbo S: Front 9X20" 245/35ZR20 & Rear 11.5X20" 305/30ZR20. GT3: Front 9X20" 245/35ZR20 & Rear 12X20" 305/30ZR20. Only difference is the GT3 uses a slightly wider rear wheel at 12X20 & semi-slick tires.

You're quoting 2 TT models that already have been established (with the PDK, I must add) to be sub 3-second 0-60mph cars.
Again, with the PDK the Turbo is a sub 3-second car to 60mph. It isn't close. And assuming it is a manual 6speed car, the AWD allows for a launch and 60ft time the GT3 cannot match and that could possibly make the difference for a 6speed TT vs. a PDK GT3. That also assumes the gear ratios of the GT3 is aggressvie enough.

secondly we are NOT discussing 0-60mph or 0-100km/h times on this Thread.
