Is it worth to get a turbo s over a turbo?
I am thinking of getting the new turbo or a vantage S. They are around the same price, (off by only a few thousand), but I wanted to know the difference between a turbo and turbo S besides the added hp.
I mean 0-60 in 3 seconds for the turbo is more than enough for the street and it is 45k cheaper. And when I spec it out with all performance, turbo s wheels, but no carbon brakes, and some extra leather and aluminum it comes out to about 165k and I can get 10k off from my local dealer to make it 155k. The aston MSRP fully loaded vantage S with pretty much everything except B&O system which apparently vantage S owners do not pay extra for would be 155k.
The dealer may give me 5-8k off max since they say special ordered ones usually only sell for MSRP.
Both cars I would immediately upon delivery add a quicksilver titanium exhaust and HRE monoblock wheels. I think the new one is the s101 I believe? But those may look better on the aston than the porsche. May go p40sc on the porsche.
What do you all think? Which is better? This car will be daily driven.

For just public roads daily driving the premium in price on the Turbo S is probably not worth it. On a track the Turbo S would be slightly more potent that the base turbo.
If you don't want PDCC and Ceramic brakes (both expensive options that will do little to improve street performance but handy on a track), you should get the base turbo.
If want want both of above options, you might as well get the S.
If getting a base turbo, sport chrono is a must have option.

I'm not sure I'd say aston S and TT are really direct comparisons, but for your purposes TT would be enough, the reason I'm doing TT instead of TT-S is I'm going to daily drive and track probably 6-8x a year, and I don't want PCCBs or center locks and 30 hp isn't a big difference.
Aston S will look and sound better, TT will annihilate the Aston in every performance measure by a wide margin, it's not even going to be in the same league.

I think it all really depends on price. If you're off by only about 40k in the US, I probably wouldn't hesitate and just go TTS (even though you won't utilize: PCCB, PDCC). TTS also has that fantastic black red combo you can't get on the normal TT (Not sure if the Z options will allow you to make a complete replica of the black red in the TT).

I am quite not yet able to afford the S if I got a turbo S it would be used.
I guess I should have made the question more clear. It appears the turbo S is not worth the premium for a DD non track car. So would a turbo or vantage S be a good choice?
Which has the better build quality and reliability? I think maybe aston is better build but is it more reliable? I'll probably keep this car for at least 5 years. Obviously porsche has better performance but I think the aston sounds way nicer especially with quicksilver exhaust.
Which hold their value better?

The standard added option list on the S are an actual bargain plus the car has more Hp . Usually the Turbo shopper wants the Hp otherwise he'd buy a base c2 . Spending 160K to have the almost fastest vs 185K to erase the doubts makes for an easy decision .
Of course the easiest decision is to buy neither and save the $$$ .

Hold value after how many years? Value depends on so many factors. My wife sold her vantage in less than 2 years, she took a huge hit on it. She loved that car but hated the single clutch auto as a daily driver. Neither of us own a turbo before, so can't really comment on that. But we are very familiar with Porsches. The vantage is NOT better build and more reliable than a 911. Hope this little info help.
I said the same thing in my video review: I believe a turbo s is the better car, because it has all the expensive options you would have to pay extra for on the standard turbo and I guess most Turbo customers want those. Full led lights, PCCB, PDCC, Sport Chrono, 18 way adjustable seats...Go all out and buy the Turbo S
Hmmm. I'm not seeing how the turbo S is wiser for a daily driver. When I option both out the turbo s is 187 and the turbo is 157.
30k really worth it for what? The ceramic brakes and having the S on the back of my car and the S on the gauges?
I mean 0-60 in 2.8 or 3.0, we can't feel the difference with our butt dynos.
I wanted to know if there were any suspension or structural differences but it appears their are none. The only difference really is 40hp and badging.

Personally I'd take the 40hp, the special trim, S chrono, ceramics amongst all the other standard extras all day long. Sure it's more money but the car will hold resale better than a standard car thats been optioned up. We all know money spent on options is never recovered. The S moniker holds the superior cred and is the quicker. Not saying a standard turbo isn't a great car, just that the S is the better car hence "wiser" choice if money isn't an issue. I'm sure the butt dyno can feel the extra torque and hp too.
