PCM Resetting
PCM Resetting
Well the problem has gotten worse. Each time I drove my car last night, the PCM would start up and reset after about two minutes of operation. Really annoying. I have had this happen once before when I took the car over to the shop that put the mods on.
I called Porsche dealership here in Austin and they said it's a common problem recently, lot's of calls on the issue and to bring it in for a software upgrade. Problem is, they can't take my car until Monday.
Anyone else had this?

This is a known issue due to some problem with SiriusXM. It has been driving me crazy in both our Cayennes. My service manager knew all about it and I have to bring them in to have the PCM software updated. First one goes in next Thursday.
Interesting, so if you don't subscribe it's not a problem or it's just something to do with the receiver? Our Cayenne doesn't do it and we had a three month trial subscription which expired but my TTS does it and I have had Sirius from the start. The problem only recently started. Before this it would hang on startup when loading the jukebox or the maps for the nav system. Later I changed the way I had the key fob set up and that problem went away. All in all, the PCM is just a bit flaky. Another thing I don't like is that when I am playing songs from the jukebox, it always restarts on the first song it was playing when I started the car instead of the last song it was playing when I turned it off.
I assume (hate to do that) it would not affect PCMs that are not subscribed to SiriusXM as my service advisor said it is something to do with a signal from SiriusXM.
I had this occur with my Cayenne Turbo a few weeks back.
I brought it to dealer a few days before Thanksgiving since the PCM was resetting every 2-3 minutes.
It seemed to get better if i turned off the bluetooth on my iPhone 6+.
My PCM needed two updates.... and the issue has not recurred since.
While my service advisor thought it was associated with the iPhone 6, others have stated it is the XM update.
Regardless, it was covered under factory warranty.

the problem isn't just due to XM..
I had it happen all the time with certain MP3's on the jukebox.. I could make it at will if I played just the right media files.
I suspect certain media files caused a problem.. Stopped with those particular MP3's and I haven't had it happen since.

) ... I ended up just copying the files and stopped using the player and it never reset on me again.
