Atco october 7th giac vs. Cobb 991 turbo s shootout!!!!!!!
SGD its a little off topics but Tirerack.com now has 8 MPSS rears for our car in stock. Did you run into an aesthetics issues when changing to the Michelins? I swapped my P zeros for the MPSS on my 13C2 and due to the softer shoulder profile of the MPSS they looked odd so I ran spacers to push the tire out.
The second part is for the fronts they have a "Ferrari" fitment. Does this have the rim guard?

The pilot super sports look meaner and much more aggressive than the P zeros.
Excuse the ignorance but what is the difference in the Porsche fitment vs Ferrari fitment on the super sports? In this case tire rack and local dealer is calling out the fronts as "Ferrari" fitment. There is no manufacturer specification on the rears in stock at tire rack.
I've had a half a dozen sets of super sports accross a few cars. The only time I had a issue was the way they looked on that 13 c2.

That is what I am finding. I spoke with Park Place and Tire Rack.
"Porsche fitment" or "Ferrari fitment" or whatever is a set of tires where the stiffness of the sidewall is specific to the suspension and weight of the car.
I only pay attention to this in cars like my E63 and 911 where one end of the tires get a lot more weight or stress than the other. In a Porsche, 61-ish percent of the weight of the car is on the rear tires. Note the higher rear load rating than front on a Porsche-specific tire. The E63 is the opposite, where the front tires need to be much heavier duty than the rears, though the wagon I have is much more neutral than the sedan. I'd image a Ferrari tire is designed to be 50/50 and probably has a couple other features like sidewall wheel protection.
It does help comfort as well, since having an overly stiff sidewall on the front of the 911 might help dynamic turn-in, but it will be hard on the ride.

They have 305/30ZR20/XL (103Y) K3 which is for Ferrari and a 305/30ZR20/XL (103Y). After being transferred to two managers they told me the K3 just designates that it is a OEM for Ferrari. There is no actual difference in tire. It is simply for Ferrari customers and their own inventory.
They did tell me the new run that is still more than four weeks out is supposed to address a premature wear issue they have. I have purchased a half a dozen pairs of MPSS or more in the past several years and always thought they wore just fine.
BTW they do have a Porsche designated tire bit it may be too wide....
335/30ZR20/XL (108Y) N0
I just searched...You went with the 335 but sidewall height was larger than expected...

Marginally, but I wanted a slightly higher profile, and that wasn't really the issue after all.
The issue I was posting about, has more to do with the wheel than anything else.
They are track spec wheels with a 1" elevated lip, which eats up another 2" of inside diameter, making the all black wheel/ tire combo look like it has much higher profile tires than they actually are.
So, where it would normally be around an 18.25 - 18.5" ID, it's more like a 16.5" ID.
Had the wheels been silver, the tire sidewalls would not appear as high profile as they do now...
Had I purchased the same wheel from ADV, but a non-trac spec, with the standard lip, I'd have exactly what I wanted.
It's more of an illusion issue than anything else.
I wanted higher profile tires, to compensate for the lowering kit...to get a bit more shock absorption than a stock profile, and I wanted to a fatter, meatier rear end.
I did achieve all of that...but the look isn't exactly what I was planning on. That said, I had some reservations at the onset - but I now love the look as much as I do other wheels I've done on my other cars. The other benefit, is less issue with bending rims because of the ****ty roads around here! I have had more than a few bent rims from potholes.
It's like a minefield here...LOL
That tire is definitely too wide for the stock rims. I'm on a 12.5" rim, not 11"
