7.57s is my baseline, but it's slightly uphill.

but I will run the same location with the Cobb later.
What are your mods right now?

Oct 30 I will run the 1/4 mi strip with GIAC and then install and run the Cobb.

That's the next opportunity at the track.

well, so I ran this track.

it's definitely uphill, so times were much slower than I expected.

also their trap speed indicator was severely miscalibrated.

it was giving me 118mph in the 1/8 mi which is way too fast.

my speedo topped out at 106 and even that is higher than actual speed.

so I had fun, but it was a pretty worthless experiment overall.

1.57 was my best 60' and that was with obvious wheel spin on the P-zeros.

6.822 was my best 1/8mi.

alright, well, some updates.

I'm running the Texas mile next weekend. I had been on the fence about whether I wanted to put SC2s on my car just for this event and testing and then take them off and hang onto them until I do a track day.

but I finally decided that it's only 2k and I really want to see how the car performs with proper tires.

so I called a Porsche dealership in Houston and had them order the tires. I will pick up my car next weekend and take it to the dealership to get the SC2s installed before I head out to Beeville for the event.

my plan is to run a few times with the GIAC Stage 2+ race tune and then install the AP and run with the Cobb Stage 3 100 oct. I will likely also send some logs to Mitch and get a custom tune and run that.

now I don't think they have gear to measure anything but trap speed at the 1mi, but I will run my Vbox and collect that data as far as 60', 1/8, 1/4, etc, which is better than nothing.

then depending on what I see with the Vbox and 1mi trap speed, when I get home I may go get the GIAC Stage 2+ flashed back onto the car and take it up to the 1/4 mi drag strip and run there with it and then install the AP again and do the same thing.

They give you 1/2 mile and 1 mile times. You have to run some slower passes in order to get qualified for the fastest pass. The reason for the slower pass is so you get used to the stopping distance. They don't have a lot of room to stop and guys doing 200+ have chutes. That guy Tito that I was showing in the 1/4 mile video on my thread told me that he ran his GTR at 215 and says doing the second half is scary at those speeds and he used a chute. He says once he did a 200+ run, he wasn't going to do it again and stayed under 200 after that.

Ray's transport. They have a storage location in Houston so I can pick it up and drop it off whenever and they arrange the transport when it works for them.

Much cheaper than a dedicated hauler for the week.

so I'm headed out there tomorrow.

unfortunately the weather is not looking good for the weekend.

my plan was only to run a few times Friday and then install the AP.

however, it's looking like it's going to be tough to run back to backs as there will be limited runs available in between rain.

we may not even be able to run at all Friday or Saturday.

if that's the case, everyone will be trying to run Sunday, which will make it packed and hard to get multiple runs to do testing.

unfortunate that last week's weather was perfect and next week's will be as well.

just bad timing.

Sounds like the same kind of crap weather we deal with most of the time down here in FL. I feel your pain.
