I have had my 2008 997.1 Turbo for 8.5 years & I bought it with H&R lowering springs on stock shocks, so they were on the car for over 10yrs. Only now they starting to feel not as, "tight", but my shop told me that they still look good and they are not leaking. I have 89000km( 55 300miles). The axels boots have opened and sprayed grease a couple of times through that time though.

I understand that my vehicle is not a 991, but the 991 being a younger vehicle with less miles on it, I do not think that is regular.

Thanks

Bobby Ali

I have a 2015 with about 35k on the car. I have not had any issues axel boots at all. Mine are in great shape. Shock in 35K seems way out of line. My car is stage 4 and gets driven at higher speeds. .

Sounds to me like camber / caster is so far off, it's causing adverse wear on the cv joints / boots.

Well, bad luck. I had this issue when I bought my first car, it was Legacy GT. But it's no wonder, considering Legacy are not so expensive. But we are talking about car for 37k. It this case it sure isn't ok.

Hm. It's not normal for a car with 37k miles to need new shocks and axle boots. There could be a variety of reasons for the issues you're experiencing, including the previous owner's driving habits or the conditions the car was exposed to. Maybe should ask the owner about his expririence and mentiom these technical aspects. It's important to have a thorough inspection to determine the root cause of these issues.
