Some 991 Juice from Cali

Hi All,

Just had a chat with a rep/friend that was in Cali for the dealership launch. A few fun things that were mentioned to me:

1) Its wider and flatter but they managed to actually give more head room.
2) The steering still feels like a Porsche 911, don't believe the hype it still shakes and gives amazing road feel.
3) With PDCC and PTV its a scalpul on the track, want it to feel like a older 997 don't check off those options. "You can't imagine just how flat and planted the car with PDCC is", apparently unreal!
4) All launch cars will be pdk for every model, some people can't drive stick () and its just too harsh on the cars.
5) The Turbo is 2 years out and rumour has it may only come in PDK.
6) The new PDK is slick as butter in normal/sport and harsh brutal in sport plus.
7) A lot of that cabin cracking noise is pretty much gone.
8) The shifter being closer to your body is actually really nice and comforting.
9) They drove a CS in 7MT and as it expected slick and smooth - lots of fun!
10) The seats are more comfortable - cushions seem to be better.

Last but not least there are a few surprises coming in series lineup, don't expect the traditional launches and models; thats all I got

Gamo is infamous around these parts
Thanks for the impression.

What do you mean by "cabin cracking noise"? Do you mean rattles and squeaks?

Thanks god for #7. 997 was the creaking car from hell. Very hard on my OCD issues.

I hope the 991 Turbo will be offered with a 7spd manual. I'm just not ready for a PDK car.
