Is it my imagination or, with the introduction of the 991, has white become a more popular exterior color than ever before?

 

white has been the number one color choice among all auto sales the last couple of years

 

I'm not surprised that white has become #1 among all cars but I just don't recall seeing that many white 997's. If the discussions on this forum are any indication, there will be a lot of white 991's. I may just order one myself!

 

i think the white 991 is gorgeous. I would get white, red or yellow.

 

white has always been my favorite color... i wish the white craze would spread to ferrari's as they always look best in white.

 

Buckwheat, I agree with your choices. Someone suggested to me in an earlier thread that it's a sports car, after all. Got me thinking. Have to decide soon. Leaning toward white, espresso, and platinum wheels.

 

A survey report I read somewhere indicated that white has been the most popular colour for cars in North America over that past 2 years or something.

 

Yes, think it is an overall trend, but the Carreras look great in white. The Porsche white is a very pure, bright white.

 

White and silver are the most popular colors in any manufacturer and since there is no true silver in the Porsche color pallete (unless you do PT$) people are leanng to white.
Having said that, The 991 looks gorgeous in any of the basic colors, but white is always my favorite.

That would be stunning. I love the platinum wheels. If white is the new black, what is the new white? Silver is very popular (and I love my silver 991 with the platinum wheels - more than I expected). Could silver be the new White? But what would be the new silver? And what happened to black? This is all so difficult.

 

black is da bomb...but it takes so much time to keep clean...too many people don't have time these days.

I was never that wild about Black. Some cars look great in black. A number don't. And, as you correctly point out, it is a pain to keep clean. I have almost always had blue cars. But that is neither here nor there. Does anyone know how that designer green color is selling - IMO it is about the worst color I have ever seen.
