Partial Leather vs Leather Seats

Im ordering black interior, don't want to spring for full leather.

I saw a thread entitled 'partial leather remorse'. Can anyone weigh in on quality of partial leather?

Thanks.

it's really just vinyl vs leather. not a big deal as i've had both.

leather actually is more subject to shrink from sun so it'll require greater care.

there is no comparison
full leather all the way
otherwise WAY too much plastic on a 100K car

big discussion about this on rennlist,

standard is a basically vinyl seat (embossed leather, feels like vinyl)

partial leather is "smooth leather" (note the $800 "sport plus seats are smooth leather, but then rear seats are the "pleather" (perfect affordable option, back seats are a joke anyways)

full leather means everything is covered in smooth leather.

from factory the door pulls, arm rests, steering wheel and shifter are "smooth leather" for US market,

Partial leather doesn't include shifter and steering wheel?

Standard isn't partial leather on 991?

Partial Leather looks good in a black interior imo.
Really dont care for all the extended leather in a sports car.

Saw sports seats this weekend on a demo - looks good and think I'll go that way.

Thanks for the input.

the smell & feel of a full leather interior - can't see how one would say no?

On all black interior, I ordered the sport seats in part to get the "better" smooth leather. I did not order any other leather as I affirmatively don't want it for upkeep and whatnot. The one thing I kinda wish I'd done is the rear seat center tunnel over the transmission -- that is one pretty large swath that would look good with the stitching.

Then again, my current setup will hold up better to dog feet <-- I didnt just say that, did I?

My gawd, I wouldn't let my Dobies anywhere near the 991. They regard headrests as giant rawhide bones, thus are relegated to the Touareg.
