PSM Failure and Auto Start/Stop deactivated
Same issue
I have same issue with Porsch cayeene 2013 3.6 engine. I got the same message called dealer booked the appointment but next day it has diapered this error message both one, because of that i did not wen to dealer. 2 weeks later again i got same error massage but next day it has again disappeared. so this is like this for months already it appears and disappears. i was told that if error is not on on computer will not see the issue thats why i have not gone to dealer and have no idea what to do. so i would like to get some suggestions what to do

So, what I discovered through my experience with this is:
1. My Porsche dealership is (at best) incompetent. I could go on, at length, but it should be its own thread.
2. I was lucky enough to find a shop run by an expert that would take on the problem. He fixed it first try.
3. What it turned out to be was a bad break pedal switch, which is a dual function switch of some kind. Of course, the messages (to a layman) didn't indicate anything to do with it, and misleading.
4. Another thing to manage is rodents. I've been told that Porsche's choice of wiring has outer insulation that is biodegradable. Commendable, I suppose, but it's also tasty to mice, and such, as a snack. So, garaging the car is important to do, unless you don't mind spending the $$$ to replace wiring and wiring harnesses periodically. Shorts in the wiring often create spurious warning messages.
5. The ECU on the 911 is a derivative of their racing systems, and consequently has many layers of functionality, complex, and perhaps not well tuned for the car.
Anyway, that's my take-away. Finding this mechanic, and protecting the car from rodents, it's been perfect since.

I am new to this forum. So please be gentle with me. I did do a search, but came up empty in the 991 forum. I picked up my Aqua Blue CS Cab last week. I have 275miles on it now. After driving for 5min my PSM Failure message came on. I continued to drive in order to get home. 10 min later a second message stating my Auto Start/Stop is deactivated. I was not in Sport.
I parked, turned the care off then restarted the car. Both messages came back on the screen. I came back to car after being turned off and parked for 30 min, but the the messages persist. Obviously I will be bringing the care into the dealer, but I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen to them, and what it could mean.
I had a 2011 Panamara 4S and never had a problem with it (other then 4 flat tires) in the 13K miles I put on it.

As for the PSM Failure message and the Auto Start/Stop deactivation, it's definitely a good idea to bring your car to the dealer to get it checked out. While I'm not an expert, it could be a sensor or electrical issue causing those messages to appear. It's always good to have a professional take a look and diagnose the problem. Hopefully, they'll be able to fix it for you quickly. By the way, it's great to hear that you had a smooth experience with your previous Panamera 4S, except for those flat tires.
