I was told that the factory is closed for 2 weeks in August and my production date has been pushed back to the 3rd week in August due to glass moonroof ? Are they kidding.... They can't make glass roofs? Maybe the are trying to fix the electric steering...

 

I've been told they have delivery problems.... mine is delayed 5-6 weeks including 3 weeks factory summer holidays

 

The delays caused by the glass roof seem to have been there for a while. I dumped the glass and went for the metal roof because I wanted the car delivered to me by October end at the latest. I hope the delay is due to glass availability and not anything else.

On the right color car the glass roof will look great and be worth the wait.

Had a glass sr on order and dealer couldn't confirm build date.

Went with a cab in inventory instead :-)

 

All I can say is that the glass s/r on my Z-delivery car worked perfectly...and it should. After all, the s/r mechanism appears identical to the steel version. But the glass isn't the only difference as there's a motorized shade as well. Perhaps the delay involves parts for the shade. If I'd known about the delay while I was at the factory, I'd have tried to establish the cause.
