The 2013 Car and Driver's Annual Lightning Lap Competition (#7) at the Virginia International Raceway has concluded and the results are in.

The F10 M5, F13 M6 coupe and the F30 335i sedan were tested and turned in the following times:

Thanks for the post. I'm impressed with the C63 Black Series...and the Camaro. Also impressed that the RS5 did so well for a car everyone keeps placing behind the M3. I'd like to see the whole list so far. I really like what C&D is doing here. This is as close as it can come to an objective test for car performance outside of the ring.

 

I'm really surprised there is not some discussion here! Anyone surprised at some of these results?

 

I'm surprised the MB C63 Black Series was quicker around the track than the 991S.

 

Not really that surprised actually. The Merc and Camaro surprises me a little that its ahead of the 991s. Other than that, BMWs are getting softer and Audi still needs to step up their game a little.

 

At the Nordschleife (Nurburg Ring) the MB CLK 63 Black Series was 7:45, the C 63 AMG Black series was 7:46 and the 991S was 7:37.9.

Audi R8 V10 is 7:44, Audi R8 GT (must be a special version?) is 7:34.
