Help Porsche Easy Entry and Drive
Help Porsche Easy Entry and Drive
Hey guys,
I dropped off my car for service and they took our the dummy car. They forgot to put it back in and had them do it before I left but didn't take a close look until I left. I believe a small piece from it may be missing.
Can someone post a close up of the area the dummy key is inserted in or point me in the right direction?
thanks in advance

Can you post a pic of what you are referring to as "missing".
It is literally just a cheap piece of plastic that replaces the key itself.
Are you referring to the ignition switch (barrel) itself?

That "cheap piece of plastic" probably costs $50 to replace!
Yes, I will take a picture this evening when I get back.
The dummy key is present and it's inserted into the ignition but there appears to be a small piece missing from the barrel. It's open so to speak and it seems like there is a button (like a reset button) that's visible.

In order to take out dummy key, you need to pull the cover out and then push the reset button to release the lock. You use an L shape metal pin to do all that. The pin is located behind fuse cover on your footwell.
