Ordered C2S, finally!
Ordered C2S, finally!
So I finally put an order on a C2S coupe after months of agonizing about the decision. My build is as follows:
The only things on the build I don't have that I'm still unsure of are the spacers and LED lights. I'm considering getting aftermarket H&R spacers for a better fill of the gap. The LED is obviously going to be more common in the future, but I'm happy with the way the Xenons look. I just don't know if 3k is worth it?

Great build! I have a very similar build (MY 2013 so didn't have the option to get the LED's). You will love it. I have the car for just about 3 months, and I grin every time I turn the key and take it for a spin.
Haha,
Thanks. The reason I'm getting the Porsche is that the manual is still offered. But I totally understand the huge benefits of PDK, and maybe one day I'll have no choice. But for now, I'll stick with the stick

Tough call, to be honest. On the one hand, the option is quite expensive. On the other hand, as you point out, LEDs will probably become "the standard" in the near future. On balance, and given the better lighting cast by the LEDs, I'd probably spring for them. They also look really cool. The issue with these cars is always where to draw the line (assuming you have to draw one)!

Drawing the line is always tough!!! I think I've already crossed the line to a point. And I just read in another thread that a rear view camera may be a option soon.
Congrats to the OP. Very nice build.
It is a tough call. I did order them, because I think, just like the OP and you say that it will become "the standard", hopefully it ends up having a slightly better value. I also like the looks of the LEDs and they come with some nice additional features like Headlight assist and the dynamic range control and curvelights now become also GPS based. (PDLS+) so it's not only a few LEDS you're paying for. That said... They're quite expensive.
You're right. You have to draw a line somewhere, otherwise you keep adding options. The only thing is, that I drew it with a pencil so I was able to erase it and draw it a bit higher
next time I better use a permanent marker. LOL.

Nice build on this car. I have 14 way seats and wish I had 18 way. I also wish I had more leather in the car. I also wonder how much nicer the PDCC is over the PASM.
I wonder what is the average number of hours the average Porsche buyer spends on the configurator.
It would also be interesting to know how many people change the order after they place it. I would be embarrassed to know how many hours I spent on the configurator. I also change the order once and ended up canceling it and buying a used car.

I'm since february this year almost daily on te configurator and I'm still not 100% sure about anything. I changed my order several times (in fact this is my third order for this car, ordered a C4S, changed it to the 911-50, canceled it, ordered again and now I postponed it to march 2014). I guess my salesman needs to retire after my car is delivered, because he will be overwrought. Hahaha
Looks like a pretty good build. You focused on the important stuff and not a lot of fluff. I would avoid the LED's because they are so costly. If you spend that kind of money, IMO, get more useful options. Congrats on making the decision. I know hard mentally exhausting it is!
Congrats! I'm a few weeks behind you on finalizing my order. Mine is going to be same color combo. Here are my thoughts (not that you care).
The BOSEŽ Audio Package is terrible. I sat and listened to the base vs. the Bose for quite some time. In my opinion, the base system is much better sounding than the Bose. The saying by those in the know: "If there are no highs or no lows, it must be Bose." I'm having the dilemma of Base or Burmester.
Premium Package Plus i.c.w. Adaptive Sport Seats Plus (18-way): Am I missing something here? It seems like everyone gets this option. I don't get the appeal of having 18 different adjustments on a seat. I can't imagine how much weight this must add. I guess I could understand having the memory function if there are multiple people driving the car. At $3,000+ over the Sport Seats Plus, you could use those funds to get Burmester.
Power folding side mirrors with courtesy lights: Like others said, Sport Design Mirrors look much better. Although, in a big city like LA, you might prefer the folding capability.
ParkAssist (front and rear): Must be another big city thing. I wouldn't want to see sensors.
No Sport Design front fascia?

Brad,
Thanks. I tried to get all the performance options that I thought were important. The sunroof to me adds weight, but I love the contrasting look and it's pretty important in a place like SoCal. The LED is tough. For now I added it, but I may still remove it. It's coming down to how the car will look in 5-6years when more 991's and future generations have LED headlights. I plan to keep this car a long time.
