The new guy

Well after 13 Ferrari's, 1 R8, 1 Mclaren, and an M6, I finally went and did it. I picked up a 911 4S. I haven't gotten it home yet but just wanted to say hello here. It's replacing my S5 which I loved but just got a little tired of it. Already got a track day set up and wheel set ready to go next month.
Anything I should be particularly wary of the first few months of ownership? I still can't believe I finally gave in and joined the masses but I'm figuring that all of these pundits falling all over themselves can't all be totally wrong.
One thing I will say is, what is with this option list? I pretty much checked all the boxes and now I'm at 140+. I'm not that upset about it but some of the stuff is just plain silly. I gotta pay for wheel caps and some embossing thing on the seats? I would love to see a base version of this car, they just send you the engine.
Anyways, unlike the other cars in the garage this is just my daily driver. It better be as comfortable and usable as everyone says or it's going to be a very short ownership.

Wow!!! You've got some garage! What's up with all these Ferraris??? Fully agree with you Porsche charges arm and leg for little options yet not as crazy as F-cars!

Welcome to the club, congrats on your 4S and enjoy in great health...it's an amazing car!!

Congratulations and I hope you'll be happy with the 4S.
Ahh the options.....yes there are many but please don't give Porsche any ideas. They may just read your post and decide to offer the next base model as just the engine!

Welcome to the Porsche experience. Having had several Ferraris myself you will be pleased to be driving a car that actually feels more (not as much as the old 911) like a sports car than a GT. The exception may be the F12 since it is on the small side for Ferrari. The cabin of the C4S should be cozy compared to your other drives especially the FF. Happy miles ahead, it's a really great DD.

$140K should be chump change for you. No need to apologize for down grading to a Porsche. Good luck.

It's Agate Gray Metallic. . . which to me means, Gray. And I got the 18 way power sport blah blah blah seats, interior black.
This isn't a down grade. It's replacing an Audi S5 Cab which I enjoyed. I actually just buy my daily drivers as whatever car I enjoy at the time. I drove a G37S Infiniti for a few years. OK Car but the electronics inside by Infiniti are second to none.
I don't agree with Irratner though. The 458 and Spyder are incredible sports cars. The F12 is a GT with a LOT of oomph. The FF is one of the finest cars I've ever owned other than the looks. Heck even the F430 was clearly a sports car.
Anyways, I'm looking forward to it although my friends are already busting my chops. Anyone know if this Burmeister audio system is any good? I recall in my old 430 the stereo was useless even with the upgrade. The Italia it's "ok" but I wouldn't call it great. The old Mark Levinson one in the Lexus LS has been my favorite thus far.

You're going to the track with less than 2k miles? I guess you could avoid the break-in period of 5k rpms. Just toss the car after you are done with it and get a GT3
