thoughts on carbon fiber bits and trim

I'm thinking about adding some trim bits to the interior of my 991 and I'm wondering what the general impression of cf bits are in the community. I like the look generally but I love wood as well.

I don't think I want every bit cf or other, just some tasteful additions.

has it been overdone? some of you folks have extensive kits. are you pleased with the look? would you have preferred wood in retrospect?

anyone have their aluminum OEM trim painted?

of course this is a personal preference question but I'm looking for general impressions.

Go for the carbon fibre! I have always been a big fan of walnut trim in lux cars, but on my Panamera 4S I have carbon fibre with the cream seats and navy trim and love it. The comments from everyone are that carbon fibre suits a Porsche much more than wood does. When I order my 991, for sure it will be carbon fibre.
Problem is, even the smallest of pieces are several hundred dollars...
You can't go wrong and you don't have to overdo it...

it depends on ur interior color.

black with CF almost blends in, I would not get it.

I have beige int with CF and it really pops the interior.

thanks for the links and thoughts. I see your point about it blending in with a Black interior. perhaps just the shift cover and sport chrono cover would set the right tone with my black interior.

I think the whole Maccarbon set in one interior is hideous, but a couple of choice pieces will be fantastic.

thanks again...and remember to drive it everyday.

I have replaced most of the plastic chrome with CF and I like it a lot but this is like asking about colors. It is very personal. Some of the pieces really stand out more then others and some like the ignition surround and chromo clock housing are a pain to replace. Some other parts pop in in seconds.

I think wood belongs in luxury cars.
