Money2536's White 991 C2S Journal
If you are seriously considering one, look at the Duetto. It is an awesome machine. I pretty much have all the polishers/buggers and the Duetto is fast becoming my favorite.
It is hard to beat, that is for sure. Especially on lighter colored cars IMO. It really is the 'black sheep' of waxes.
I have so many products, I've tried almost everything. My DD's get either BF WDPS or 845. Just can't beat its durability. My P car is a garage queen/weekend warrior and I do try different stuff on that. Black Ice has given me excellent results as well as the new Pinnacle Synergy.
If you ever find yourself down this way, drop me a line, I can let you try some other brands if you wish.
It has completely changed the way I feel about waxing my white 991! Such deep gloss, tight beading, brake dust just falls off it.
Anyway, it's good stuff...expensive, but worth every penny!!!
Funny how these threads have a life of there own. Serge's is all about track life and P cars and this one is becoming all about creams and butters for your cars and I love it. I never knew there was so many detailing nerds like me.
I think it might be helpful this time of year to share something I found.
I've been such a huge advocate of Sonax Polymer Net Shield as a LSP (last step product). The first time I used it was about a year ago on my S4. I had fantastic results. I'm usually a much bigger fan of Carnuba waxes. This sealant changed my opinion. A huge advantage for me is the cleanliness of application. You don't get any in the cracks and trim. That makes me happy. It's also super easy to apply. All that's nice, but I decided my favorite thing about a LSP isn't it depth, shine, or protection capabilities. It's the beading. Oh man, does this stuff reject some water. My first application got about 7 months before I felt as though I needed to reapply.
Well I've found its deficiency. On my 911, I only got about two and a half months out of it. I thought it was a bit odd. I had just done my second application to my S4 a few weeks before the Porsche. I stripped it off my 911 to see what the car would look like with a different LSP. I mentioned earlier that I went back to my old stand-by, Menzerna Powerlock topped with two coats of Collinite 845.
Today, I washed my S4 and confirmed my suspicion on why it didn't last very long on my 911. The problem is that pollen does something to it. It seems clear that the sealant is still on the paint, but the beading properties has been diminished ten fold. I'm guessing it has something to do the the pollen clogging up the chemical structure of the sealant. The interesting thing is that Wolf's Glass Guard on the windows is still beading like normal.
With the massive amount of pollen we get here, I think I'm going to retire the Sonax and go back to a wax. I've tried dozens of other LSPs, and my favorite to date is still the $13 Collinite. I've been wanting to buy Swissvax Concorso for a very long time. I just might do it this time around.

Interesting. I know I have read/heard that topping some coatings diminishes the properties of the coating, this could very well be along the same line.
Keep us posted and let us know if you pull the trigger on the Concorso...I want a review on that! LOL

I didn't top the Sonax. I used it by itself. It has to be the pollen.
Yeah, roger that Money. I understood you. I was agreeing that the pollen was acting on the sealant as sometimes a 'topper' of wax will to a coating. I think you are on to something there...
Money,
I can't believe it took you 2 hours to remove those 2 stickers...
I threw some acetone on an older microfiber towel and had both sides off in less than 15 minutes. No fuss, no muss.
As my ex wife used to say...there's more than one way to skin a cat.

Hey Money, keep in mind that different paint systems react differently to various polishes as well as LSPs. Porsche paint may not like this particular Sonax product but is fine with another. Good to hear you so in touch with what's going on. Typically I've found that carnauba based products attract dirt and dust so I would guess that will be somewhat of a problem with any of the nubas regarding pollen season. Sealants are known for their shedding dirt and water properties, so I think you're onto the right thing. However, I don't know why your topping the PowerLock with 845 (sealant over sealant). I've used both but never together. If I used a topper I would probably go for a nuba to get that look. Otherwise two coats of either sealant will certainly get the job done. Three coats is probably a little to the overkill side but heah, I'm right there next to ya with most things. On white I probably lean a bit towards the #845 but don't think either one would be a bad choice.
Before you start spending your kids college fund on wax, give AutoFinese Spirit a try. Wait for the stupid pollen to pass and for $195 (list but wait for at least a -20% sale) you be amazed. SoCal Steve tired AF Illusion (another great choice just not as bright on white) on my recommendation and he's raving - shoot him a pm to get his opinion. Anyway, if you like carnauba based waxes, this is one shines and the best I've tried. In fact it's so good I'd buy it again. It's a WOWO product so super easy to apply and remove and you can do it all by hand very quickly.
If you want a little more high tech in your LSP then one of the newer combo products, Pinnacle Black Label Synergy is worth considering. Just did a review for AG so you might want to check that out as well. It's a combination LSP, part coating and part nuba. Very interesting and the love bugs literally fall off my front bumper if I barely touch them with a MF towel & some detail spray. The only thing I didn't like was it stained my stone guards and I'll have to replace them. I wasn't told to beware of the staining and I've never had that issue with any other LSP, so make sure you tape them off and you'll be fine.
