Cab owner question.

Do you leave your top down for extended periods of time (2 to 4 days) or do you put it up due to concerns about the marks that get on the top from being folded?

My top is almost always up when I park it. With the exception of quick errands parked indoors with security or lot's of foot traffic nearby I put it up. Several reasons.

1. You hang your suits when you get home, you don't leave it on the chair or on the floor.
2. Dust, dirt, birds, retards
3. It takes 13 seconds to put up and down and I can do it up to 35MPH. Better to be safe than sorry.

I'm sure I'm I'm the minority here, but I leave mine down a lot. I keep mine in my garage overnight and normally leave it down. If I run out during the day and can keep it down I do. So when I get home it stays down. When I go to work or leave it parked somewhere in public I put the top up. So at times it can be down for 3 or 4 says on a row, especially over a weekend.

Mine us unless I plan to get back in soon. If In public I have to very sure of where I am to leave it down. I assume after a while the up and down will wear on things and need some maintenance. I also don't like the fold marks if left overnight.

I will sometimes leave it down in my garage overnight. When I am out and about, I also generally put it up unless it is a short stop. I don't like the UV effects from the sun or dirt and dust on my interior for long periods in addition to the things mentioned above by fixed upw203.

I leave mine down overnight quite a bit. Sometimes I drive home from work, park in the garage and drive to work the next day still dow. If I am driving my DD that week it could stay down all week long. I don't want it to crease, but also don't want the motors and other items to wear.

I DD mine and always put the top up when parking, but it hasn't stopped marks from showing up. After a long thread with some other cab owners, we think it's due to rubbing of the clam-shell against the top when you drive around with the roof down. Ironically, you would avoid this by leaving the top up while driving, but dropping it while parked. =P

Here's that thread, for reference:

Never leave mine down. I was at a car show and watched a person spill a cup of coffee in a Bugatti. I also watched a person throw a soda can in a corvette with the top down once at a fast food restaurant. Don't leave it down in the garage, too many spiders, bugs, etc.. in the morning.

I have a garage to keep both Cabrio's in. Top is left down about 95% of time. I do leave it down when parked on street etc. also. Just put all windows and wind screen up.

I only leave it down if it's in my garage, and then rarely for more than overnight. If I'm going to be away for a while, the top goes up.

I leave my down in my garage all summer. It only goes up if it rains. Haven't notice the creases like I used to in my previous 911's.
