Discount on 2014?

My friend and I went to a few local dealers so he could look at a New 2014 911 s. He is being offered 9% off list on all of the 2014s.
Is that the standard discount at this time with the 2015s already at the dealers?

9% is probably about 12k and that sounds about right, you might be able to squeeze a couple k more but that's good ballpark.

MKW is infamous around these parts
if the past two seasons are typical , some may sell for up to 17-18 % off MSRP when factory trunk money kicks in later in the year .....many will be the high optioned ones or weirdly spec'd ones that have sat around for a long time ...esp true during end of month snowstorms in Dec or Jan in the Midwest or Northeast

buy at end of model year if you plan to buy and own it for years...never if you plan to buy and flip it within 2-3 years , as there is a $10 k model year diff in trade in value during that time period , which more than eats up that end of model year " deal "

I recently purchased the last 2014 911 Carrera from my local Porsche dealer and received a 10% discount. Very happy with the deal. Absolutely love my new Carrera.

An LA dealership is offering a 124k C2S Cab for 114. Trouble is, that isn't even 10%, AND the car is a demo. They're nuts.

If the car is exactly they way one would spec it, great. But don't forget that there may be $12K worth of options that wouldn't be on a new order car and you get exactly what you want. And then there's the depreciation because it's one year model old.

I hope I'm not off subject, but if 2014 models off the lot are discounted by 9% or more, what kind of a discount can one expect on a highly-optioned special-order 2015 model?

That could be a rough road, like maybe 3-5k off...

Thats why I never buy PCars in LA. I'm shocked they even offered that much, I thought it would be more like 3-5%.

Where do u buy if u live in LA? I thought So. calf had the largest inventory so we could ask for a bigger discount. It is harder when an out of state dealer only has 1-2 cars on the lot to start with.

I got 11% off my 2014 c2 last month plus dealer paid shipping to CA. I noticed my dealer has a new 2014 c2s will all the goodies for $25k off. Someone needs to grab this one ASAP. Ask for the GM Dan Shearman, he will hook you up.

Nice ride and great deal.

When I was looking at cars, the California dealers had the worst deals. Plus big attitudes, like they think people in CA will just pay through the nose. One even told me that in the SF area. Crazy.

Thanks STG. It's my first P-car and I really enjoy driving it. Ya, there is too much money in CA so double digit discounts are not very common here. Best I could find on a CA car (that I wanted) was 10% off a demo with 12k miles...no chance. The Kansas dealer was super nice and the transaction was easy. I had to wait about 10days for the car but it was worth it to me.
