Need help on a ongoing exhaust upgrade
I have ordered a list of parts to upgrade my 2013 C4s exhaust to a sport exhaust. I did not include the tips. I just got a call from the dealer saying they could not reuse my tips and want a addition $1600 to use the kit tips . This not the case right?
Not true. If you have an "S", you have the same tips that are used on the factory Sport Exhaust, and even if you needed a set, they're not $ 1,600. I've played around so many times with 991S tips I can do them blindfolded now.....the tips are held one with one clamping female TORX screw - only the base 991 has a different exhaust on it. He's probably confusing it with that.

If you have the S model you CAN use the tips. They are identical. I got duped into ordering some and now have an extra set!
If you have the base Carrera, you need the new tips.
THANK YOU! I do have the CS4 I think it should not make a difference. Which set did you keep?
I would have saved like $600 otherwise.
They usually don't know what they're talking about unfortunately!
Are you getting a button too?

Did you order the parts individually minus the tips .
The dealer ordered the whole kit including tips. You can order everything individually without the tips and save $$$
Can we order the PSE without the tips from suncoast to save some money ?
I'm sure. Don't see why not? All the individual pieces have part numbers. Call Ryan over there.
Here is the situation. They will sell you the parts for the PSE without the exhaust tips but they will not sell you the tips without the kit. So I ask what happens when the tips are damaged in accident. Porsche wants a picture of damage and will sell them to you for $600 each. They really want control of the replacement exhaust. It is my opinion that I already paid for them once and two grand for a muffler, valves, and switch is enough.

You don't need the tips anyway, so screw them.
Just tell the idiots to put your current tips on the new muffler. Tell them if they don't fit you'll buy the new ones. I'm telling you they're the exact same thing. Unless there are like 1 mm different or something. I highly doubt it. Side-by-side, the tips they came on my non-PSE looked like the exact same ones as the ones they put on.
