DC auto show...The worst!

Just got back from the DC Auto show with the wife and Porsche was no where to be found and there were only a hand full of exotics. Overall it was pretty sad. Basic cars from every brand. Audi had no RS models on the floor. Benz had no separate display for the amg's (from what I could see they only had the amg gt). BMW did not have one M car on display. Does anyone know why DC has such a great venue but a **** poor show? Also how is it even considered a car show without Porsche? PS: trust me when I say it wasn't even worth taking photos.

I have been going for years but the last few have been awful, I'm not bothering this year. If I want to see some cool cars I just drive to FoW. Chicago, ny, LA, Detroit are the real deal, we get sh it.

Same goes for Philadelphia Auto Show -- I used to go each year, but in the last 4-5 it has gotten progressively more mundane and same cars you see out on the street by the thousands every day. I don't think the manufacturers have had a "reveal" of new models, etc. in Phila or DC shows for many many years!

And yes, in Phila you might see a Lambo or Aston, but that is only because the New Jersey dealer F.C. Kerbeck has a booth there -- NOT because the manufacturers bring them in! I no longer waste my time or money.... Lot easier and more fun to actually go to the Ferrari dealer near here (Algar) or one of the half-dozen or so BMW dealers (for the M cars), or the 3 P-car dealers.... you get my point.

If you want to see great cars, go to cars & coffee in great falls, va once the weather warms up. Even during the winter months you get a pretty good turnout every weekend.

That's unfortunate to hear, I was thinking about going. Oh well, I guess it's better to just watch the Rolex24!

I think I saw you driving on 7 coming from Reston to Tysons this past week... Your 4S is making mine feeling lacking ma'am! It looked great.

And yes save your money and don't head into the city.

I used to go to the DC show as a kid and it used to be much better. Slowly got worse and worse. Glad I live close to a real auto show. I feel like the market for expensive sports cars in DC has grown. The auto show obviously doesn't represent it.

If you mean directly to the DC market...than that's a pretty dumb or just flat out offensive message.

There is an extremely high number of exotics and high end performance DTMs sold in the DMV and the last time I checked we have more oil babies living here to make the shahs of sunset feel left out. Not to mention 6 out of the top 10richest counties in America. (http://wtop.com/news/2014/04/america...es-in-dc-area/) If there was one show to bring the noise for I would have said it was for DC, but jmho.

If you meant in general...I don't get the message?

I would've thought it would be pretty clear what I was talking about. Obviously the US government isn't too friendly towards the whole automotive industry.

The concentration of higher than avg. gov't jobs around DC has been well documented and noted as well.

I meant nothing offensive towards the car fans from the area. I like Porsche owners (95% of the time) wherever they are : )

DC Auto Show

I'm not disagreeing that the show could be much better, but you missed numerous cars

I rushed through yesterday, but did see:

Audi RS5 red
BMW M4
BMW MX6
BMW i8
Benz had 2 AMG's I think
Benz GTS
Nissan GTR
Jag F Tupe R

I'm sure I'm leaving out a few other fun cars.
