thanks for the info...I'm guessing that's what the issue is as well. Since I'm in no rush to have it functional, I think ill wait a little longer before replacing my battery

My car is a CPO. if yours is as well your dealer will replace the battery under warranty because that’s the only way to get the auto restart function to work. Otherwise, I’d leave the original battery in the car as mine worked fine in all weather and I live in the north east

Last week while on a slight incline at a stoplight, the car did the hill hold function and the auto start-stop kicked in. When the light turned green, i heard a nearby car engine start, then i realized it was my car. My auto start-stop had worked for the firs time. it then occurred again a few stop lights later, the RPMs went to zero, a circular arrow w an A in the middle went green. I was so excited that it actually works.
It hasn't happened since....but at least I know it's functional.

very very weird

could be a bad connection somewhere, which maybe the incline caused the part to connect and therefore start/stop to work? my guess, which is probably completely wrong . . .

Also in San Diego, the Start stop does not work battery socket low msg in dash

dud you figure out the issue? Mine is a 13, drive it 1x a month and for past 2 years start/stop has never worked. get the same msg about start/stop deactivated in normal mode while city driving- hardly have any highway driving. Also did you have any engine misfires or other engine error msg? Thanks-

it works sometimes, other times it doesnt. Exact same scenario, same street, etc. Makes no sense.

I just turn it off now.

Yeah, my Auto-Stop quit working sometime ago. I didn't miss it when coming to stops. It still worked when coasting and such. Culprit was a weak battery. Basically, I liked it this way.

just because the battery shows 12v+ doesnt mean that it’s not weak. tested under load is whats important.

I apologize for resurrecting this old thread. My vehicle experienced the same problem. It turned out that I had a battery issue. It's quite inconvenient if your battery voltage is low for this feature. If you Google "Engine Auto Start/Stop Not Working on YOUCANIC," you'll find an article that discusses frequent problems and possible solutions.
