Question Need LSD input

Ok guys, so I was out at a PCA DE track event out in Vegas this weekend and two of the instructors mentioned that it would be a great idea for me to upgrade to a Limited Slip Differential since I have a RWD 996TT. Where can I buy an LSD at a good price that is most friendly for a car that is driven on the street with 3-4 track events per year? Which brand do I go with, GT2 OEM? Do I need to buy anything less to install an LSD like gears and/or pinions? Help me out guys.

I've seen a lot of people with broken OEM GT2 LSDs, so you may want to go with something more robust.

Latest 996 GT3 Cup Car LSD...I have installed many. Much stronger than street GT2 and GT3 LSD.

Thanks Vince...how many hours of labor are required for an installation of the LSD? Does the engine need to be dropped for the installations?

The transmission can be removed without having to remove the engine, labor for trans R&R should be about $500.

The LSD installation should be about $400 only if there isn't anything else in the gearbox that isn't worn out or broken. Almost all the time I will have to replace the 1st to 2nd and 3rd to 4th gear syncros. There are four bearings that might need replacement. The extra labor should only be about $400 more. The LSD must be installed with the proper end thrust measured.
