Grinding 3rd?

Was out in Mexico racing a buddy of mine tonight and everytime I would shift hard into third it would grind just ever so slightly, but it would go into gear and I would continue to accelerate.

I had my friend who is a tech at Porsche check out the car a week ago and he says I need some kind of clutch accumulator. Would this be the cause since the clutch is definetely feeling weird.

I had to have some part of the clutch accumulator replaced on mine as well. I didn't feel grinding, but did feel a slight bit of resistance when depressing the clutch. I kept thinking the top of my foot was catching on something as I depressed the clutch. After they fixed it, the clutch is super smooth and there is virtually no resistance when I depress it, especially when the car isn't running (like when you are about to crank it up). They charged me something like $700 at the dealership to fix it including labor, tax, etc.

i do get very slight grinding on 2nd to third shifts as well. you feel it as your WOT going into 3rd. the feeling is in your hand/shifter. not clutch...
i would like to know why as well

I am not sure if it is what is causing this feeling you are getting, but you can easily tell if the accumulator is bad. The clutch should go to the floor when the car is turned off with absolutely no resistance at all. If there is any resistance, the accumulator is probably bad.

The clutch does not go to the floor when the car is off. When the car turns off I can feel the clutch pedal loosen up and then its able to go to the floor.

I don't believe it's an immediate effect as soon as you turn off the key....let it sit overnight and then try it...
