Dropped off my baby today...
This morning I dropped off my 996TT with the folks at Lufteknic in Richmond Va. ( http://www.lufteknic.com/ ) They'll be doing the clutch and checking a few other things out for me... Talked with them for about 30 minutes about what I do with the car, the mods and what I hope to have addressed.
I may have them go ahead and do an alignment on it while they have it, and they're gonna swap the front diff and tranny fluids, and check the shifter cables to make sure they're properly adjusted.
Seem like nice folks... I'll report back once I get the car back.

Oh believe me, there's no love loss between me and Cville BMW. They send all their work out to Mark Cook's EuroClassic in Richmond now. I'll keep you posted, but bottom line is my car won't be going to either of those places again.

What clutch set up did you choose?
I believe we're going with the GT3 disc, the 964RS LWFW and the Sachs Stage 2 PP. The PP and the disc are massaged I believe. I'll get more info on this later today, but they know what's been done to the car and what I expect performance-wise, and what it needs, so they're pulling it appart today and calling me later today with their suggestions... Their regular "performance" clutch kit (With the LWFW) is $1450 plus 8 hours labor.

So we're going with a 964RS LWFW, GT2 PP and GT3 Clutch, along with all the hardware...
They're also gonna replace the rear main and all other hardware, fluids in the front diff, tranny, and adjust the shifter cables, and do an alignment.

Mike, looks like you mean business at the track this year. Good luck and I'll be interested in your impressions of your upgrades. I'd like to hear about the recent brake work as well.

The brakes have been on the front for a while and you can tell a difference on the street, so I'm assuming I'll be able to tell a difference at the track. I'll report more on that after the March 14-16 event.
This car should run much better now with the stronger clutch, and allow me to heel/toe - match revs much better. I'm also expecting the car to handle much better and that'll be a big plus.
