Boost leak?
Nope. Mocal tranny cooler, front-mount Setrab oil cooler, no heat soak issues, car weighs less than 2,600 pounds, no brake issues either. Or did you mean to say "break" down?
I found the culprit, my EVO wastegate rod snapped. Has anyone besides Cohare had this problem? Man, anything you put on this thing that isn't stock can can give you problems. Is anyone from EVO on the forum? I think they owe me a new wastegate.

I had this exact same problem this week.
My passenger side wastegate rod broke and wastegate was wide open on that turbo.
Had my local guy make a new one and will try today.
Viper stuff:
I used to laugh to, but my buddy has a 98 GTS Coupe with better brakes and
a small ROE supercharger/meth inj and it is very similar performance to my car
and does very well at the track (Road Racing at Brainerd Raceway), as well.
Yes, it is obnoxiously loud, hot, cramped and rough riding, but it does go like
a bat out of hell...

EVO is sending me an improved version of the rods this week. They told me there have been numerous reports of rods failing (snapping) and now they are zinc coated (heat resistant) and the've gotten rid of the connection in the middle of the rod (where they snap). We'll see what happens after I get them installed. I guess you can pull the rod out the old wastegate and replace them with the improved version. Results forthcoming.
How did you replace the rod in the wastegate? Do you have to take apart the wastegate to remove the rod? They told me that they send detailed instructions with the kit. How many miles have you put on it since the rod installation?

Not sure about install since my dealer's mechanic took care of it. Since the change, it has about 3,000 more miles on it (no winter driving here this past winter). And most of those miles are short jaunts from home to work and area driving, frequently hitting peak boost out of 2nd and 3rd gear so no long and easy highway rides at low boost.
PM sent.
